This unit is well-designed all around. The aluminum frame suggests a quality of design and build quality that is carried through in the rest of the unit. In particular, I like the heavy, flexible gripper that attaches to the shower head. It's a thick, simple clip that is just flexible enough to fit over the pipe, where it hangs on ferociously. I had to use zip ties to keep the old unit from sliding down the pipe and resting on the shower head. This clamp holds on and balances the unit such that it sits on the short horizontal portion of the shower head pipe securely.
The swinging shelves are also very well done. You can arrange them however you like (balance permitting) and they hold big bottles and small bottles alike securely. The small rubberized safety razor holders are clever and work well. My SO no longer has to keep her leg shaving razor in the soapdish, where it often fell. A couple of hanging hooks round things out, and will hold a scrubbie or brush. The unit balances well and we've had no problems with it swinging around.
This is a large holder with a lot of capacity and great utility. Several months in, it also continues to look great.
The bottom line for me is that while this was one (and likely still is) one of the more expensive shower caddies on Amazon, it's worth for the far and away superior design and usefulness. I also expect it to last longer than the typical style. It's exactly what we needed and I recommend it to anyone looking for a high quality shower caddy to hold everything securely and look good.
I have only had it for a couple months, so I cannot speak to whether it rusts or not.
It is a nice feature to be able to manually move the shelving up or down, or outward if you like. On our old, rusty unit his crap on the top shelf kept dripping down and drying on the lower shelf and on my stuff.
You are able to put a bottle upside down and stick it in the rubber necks, if you will, and squeez your product out below. We do not use that function as we each have pump shampoo bottles, however they are GREAT at holding razors (of if you brush your teeth in the bathroom you could potentially put your toothbrish and toothpaste in the holes).
The clip to the shower head is a nice width and holds very secure. The suction cups at the bottom center secures it very well. The adjustable shelves makes room for a hand held shower, if needed. It doesn't make the shower feel crowded, like some shower caddies do. Bottom line, it may seem a bit pricy, but it is well worth the investment.
