First its more affordable then the rest (2 of these for one of those).
Next, small limb capable. Works on smaller more slender limbs. (others might not)
Finally, learn how to use another type of TQ. (round out knowledge)
Product worked as advertised on my arms. Not so much on my thighs. I have large muscular thighs (Life time hockey player, long time backpacker) there is just enough material to wrap enough and then cinch down to effectively stop blood flow every time. With the tail of the cord in my hand I just couldn't get the thing to consistently cinch down without the cord slipping and sliding or being ripped out of my hands. I can do it on my arms one handed first time every time just not my thigh. Just the windless options are more first time every time for me. Still like it just don't love it. Fills a niche roll though. The pics First Loose pulse ox showing numbers Second pic tightened (Notice the lack of tail that is routinely ripped through my hands while trying to tighten)

If you find yourself in circumstances like that, I highly recommend carrying a R.A.T.S. with you. It looks like a heavy piece of rubber, but is in fact extremely lightweight, so there's no real reason not to carry it. Yes, statistically you'll never have to use one of these things, but if you do pull that short straw, it won't be optional. In fact, when I'm in remote areas I usually carry it bundled into the belt pocket of my pack where it's readily accessible - the thing about tourniquets is that when you need them, you need them right now and not 30 seconds from now after you've dug around in your pack a bit.
I'd definitely recommend taking one with you on your next remote outing.
Overall I would say that the R.A.T.S Tourniquet is a simple and effective system. It's made from a bungycord and even with that I'm completely comftorble having this as my only Tourniquet.
It's extremely easy to apply and remove, takes me approximently 15 seconds to apply, stays firmly in place and can be carried in a small size!
