One of my favorite quotes by Fuller:
"Humanity's average height is about 5 feet. There are about 5,000 feet to a mile and, as we have observed- ten miles make the difference between the deepst ocean and the outermost mountain. That difference would be 10,000 of us standing on one another's shoulders, successively one above the other. And since in real Universe, looking out at Earth, you can't even see the altitude difference between the mountain tops and the ocean bottoms, ou and I are 1/10,000 of invisible on the planet. We are indeed tiny."
Buckminister cover a variety of sub topics off the main focal point of education and has truly original ideas that would give the education the jump start in a completely opposite direction it really needs. "Education is a world-wide investment", as he says. He believes in training people in generalized studies off ALL subjects rather than specialized studies as the current system is. This way, it bridges the gap between the sciences and can create a betterment in the world for all people.
This book, if you read it with an open mind, will probably make your jaw drop like it did mine. Read it in a quiet room, with nothing to distract you.
Our modern day education is unaffordable, broken, and needs revampment. Fuller's book is a good start in the right direction.
