The user manual is loosely-translated from Chinese. Most of it you already know. The important missing part is how to take it apart for installation: Hold the top part (with the cable notches) and twist that ring just below it. If you didn't buy a 12-volt adapter, you could always use an old one from your Linksys router.
This is an older-style CCTV camera that uses BNC connectors and Siamese cable (RG-59 with extra power wires) to a DVR or video monitor. It is not for SDI or HD CVI systems and is not an IP camera nor is it wireless or POE (power over ethernet). It also does not remotely pan, tilt or zoom, and has no motors for doing so.
For $40, they look good and they're quite solid. If you're wanting to expand or upgrade your current system, these would get the job done.
Well, as soon as I hooked it up I saw it had a visibly wider range than my 2yr old Q-See cameras. SO I LOVE THIS feature.
Second, the colors are definitely richer so the image is clearer.
You have control over Zoom and Focus which is great BUT the Focus takes time to set up as it's touchy. Finally, seems less vulnerable to spider webs!!!
Night recorder, it actually surpassed expectations again over my QSee cameras with more IR LED's. Just be careful not to have any object or obstacle too close to the camera such that the IR LEDs would reflect the IR into the lens.
I will be buying more as they are even prettier than the QSee cams.
I started with one black model R-tech camera. I bought two more white model R-tech cameras after installing the one. Got white because they were out of the black ones. Ion our case the color did not matter.
Pros of these cameras – low price, fair quality. They have a somewhat clearer picture than the older cameras we have. No they are not going to be as clear as a $100 plus camera, but they are acceptable. In fact they are better than a more expensive Swann brand camera I have looking at a different angle.
Negatives – it is not quite as wide a viewing angle as I would like. The motion sensor hidden camera had a wider viewing angle.
Big disappointment in that there are ZERO instructions on how to take these apart to install. A simple pictorial showing how they go together would have been nice. You must take them apart to install the base. That is why I knocked them down to four stars.
The cameras consist of four pieces. The camera (1) itself. A half round shaped open-ended cover (2) that goes over the camera, A ring (3) that goes over that cover and is used to lock it to the base (4).
They are slightly different mounts!
In order to take apart the black one, to install the base on the surface, there are two small allen head screws in the ring. Remove these and the ring comes off. The screws lock into a ridge on the base to keep the ring, cover and camera on the base.
When I got the white ones there was only one allen screw in the ring. I took it out and tried to twist things. It would not move so I assumed it was similar to the black one in how it was put together. NOT. I almost broke it before I realized the ring is screw mounted to the base. Just very tight. You have to unscrew it in order to take it apart. These are very fine threads.
Both cameras are a little tough to get back together. They mount very tight in the base. You have to loosen the ring to move the camera. It’ll take a while to get it right. Fortunately, it is a one-time thing since they are fixed mount. On the plus side, no one can easily jar the camera out of line once it is installed. You really have to take the time to loosen it all back up to move.
My personal preference is the two allen screws into the ridged base vs the screw mount ring to base. It felt like I could very easily cross-thread the screw mount. It took a little careful doing to get the threads started. At the same time the ridged base ring needs to be pressed on tight to get the allen’s to go.
Six of one vs half a dozen of the other.
One hint while working to get it aligned, is to put a little liquid hand soap on the back part where the camera sits on the base. You’ll see some rubber mounts. And I put some liquid soap on the threads to help lubricate them. This can help you as you slide the camera around to get the right view when installing it.
If you need zoom these will likely work well for you.
Once you have the camera aimed, and the locked in place, then set your zoom with the small screwdriver provided. Then focus it in. It is very sensitive to the focus. Just tweak it a little at a time.
Overall for the price they work OK and I would buy again. I still have two more slots in my camera system so I may get a different wider-angle camera, or two, to see the corners of the store. Meantime the visible cameras have cut the shoplifting down.
Remember the more cameras you have the less the time you can keep the old video. In my system, it went from about 10-12 weeks to a little over 8 weeks.

when setting lens... eg zoom and focus. did not focus in very well
on wide lens....apart from that I liked it.
Good in the day if close up, if it wasn't for the price I would have returned.
