Now that the Covid-19 Pandemic has arrived, I wanted a jobsite water faucet to go along with my Fast Orange hand soap. I drilled a half-inch hole in the bottom of a 5 Gallon Home Depot pale (also bought a screw on top for the pale). I was wondering if the tap would make a water-tight seal given the plastic's curvature, but the plastic flattened when I tightened the nut. The seal remains watertight. I put an extra washer on the exterior (a regular rubber hose washer that I "forced" on) to protect the plastic and make an extra seal.
A far, far better solution than any of the cheap water dispensers being sold. And all the parts are easily replaceable.
