As an afterthought, this combined with my pre-installed red LED dome light is actually really cool looking. They don't quite mesh, and contrast quite a bit. It's like I've invented some weird alien color that is both at the same time. When it shines off the interior of the car, it has a very nice look that makes the inside look like a diamond showroom.
My only dislike is that you have to remove 2 or 3 small screws to change the batteries. So if I'm in my truck and the batteries die I'm either going to have to wait to I get somewhere well lit or attempt to change them with a flashlight. So that could be a con. Hopefully it gives some warning (dimming) so that I won't run into that situation.
Not as bright as some LED lights I've seen but like I mentioned above it is not bad. I would say about the same as an average cell phone flashlight. You should be able to read a map or write a note without an issue. Not bad for a light slightly larger than a thumb, or at least my thumb. I plan on ordering a second one myself.
Unfortunately, the light itself is not attached to the magnetic/clamp portion- so it falls off very easily. I noticed this before heading out to a festival and thought I should be careful not to lose it. Well, that didn't help, I lost it before I ever got the chance to use it. I still have the clip portion, its just that the light fell off and vanished as I was loading my gear.
The light seemed decent bright, and the magnet again is a good idea, but if you plan on bringing this light outside anywhere-- keep close track of it, it will detach very easily.
