Let me go ahead and mention that this thing is a beast. Rated at 23000 is just ridiculous. This is meant for true traveling warriors. This thing has ability to charge you’re laptop, tablet, phone and pretty much anything else you could think of. It’s about the size of my Nexus 7 (7 inch tablet).
It has a nice two toned appearance. A faux brushed metal look and a glossy finish. It has a good look to it and feels like a premium product; which it should.
Holding it in the hand, it definitely feels solid. Nothing bends or creaks that would cause concern. It has a nice little lcd screen telling you the exact percentage of charge left and the output voltage. The voltage is more specifically if you’re charging a laptop that has very specific needs. 9V/12V/16V/19V/20V are all selectable output voltages. It pretty much has all the connectors for ever type of laptop you can think of, 10 in total.
It also has 2 usb ports, a 1 amp and a 2.1 amp output.
The thing about smaller capacity battery packs is that you end up charging the thing fairly often if you use it a lot. With this….you probably would charge it once a week and that’s with super heavy use throughout the week.
I was able to charge my Nexus 7 and Nexus 5 at the same time with no problems. I also charged many different combinations of phones and tablets comprising of Ipad 4 Retina, Nexus 7, Iphone 5, Nexus 5, Samsung Galaxy s2, S3 and Ipad mini.
It take 2 whole days to pretty much go from 100% to 0% charging various devices.
Nexus 5 – 63% > 100% = 851mah
Nexus 7 – 89% > 100% = 435mah
Ipad 4 – 52% > 100% = 5548mah
Nexus 5 – 89% >100% = 253mah
Ipad 4 – 87% >100% = 1502mah
Nexus 5 – 58%>100% = 966mah
Nexus 7 – 88%>100% = 474mah
Ipad 4 -59%>100% = 4739mah
Nexus 5 -0%>65% = 1495mah
Nexus 7 – 85%> 100% = 592mah
Ipad 4 – 86%>100% = 1618mah
Total MAH actually charged via devices = 18473
18473/23000 = 80% efficiency of the battery to charge other devices.
Basically 80% of 23000mah is actually useable. Which is a really good % compared to other external battery packs.
Also, it was able to charge my Lenovo Y510p laptop no problem but I didn’t use it in the testing as I mostly used it when I was out and about.
If you’re looking for something that small and portable to use around the city this probably isn’t for you but if you fly all across the country and don’t want to worry about any of your devices running out of juice or having to find a wall socket then this would be. It is a monster of a battery pack meant to do serious work. For the price of 100 bucks, the ability to charge me laptop and every other device is a no brainer. Especially not having to worry if the battery is charged all the time.
It worked as I'd hoped. It actually provides a full charge to the Yoga plus another 13%. If the tables below are legible when I submit this review you'll see the elapsed time it took to charge the Yoga to various levels and to drain the RAV. Or in narrative form: starting with the RAV at 100% and the Yoga at 13%, I charged the Yoga to 100% and the RAV still had 21% remaining (87% charge to Yoga from a 79% drain of the RAV). The next day after draining the Yoga to 61%, I hooked it back up to the RAV and it charged the Yoga another 26% so it was up to 87% when the RAV hit zero (87% from the first charge plus 26% from the second equals 113% total charge for the Yoga).
It's very easy to use. There's nothing the least bit complicated or cumbersome about it. The only set up is changing the power output voltage to match your device, and that just takes the push of a button and a few seconds. The digital power meter seems pretty accurate. I noticed it was a little erratic in relation to how much it dropped in power relative to how much the Yoga increased at various points during the charging process as you can see from the tables below (hopefully). But the variances were fairly minor except that it took 5% from the RAV to charge the Yoga from 98% to 100%, but from what I've read it's normal to take more power to charge that last 1 to 2 percent on any device.
It has two USB outputs while many other batteries I looked at have only one. It comes with 10 laptop/tablet power input adapters (including the weird Lenovo rectangle) plus the micro USB and Apple iPhone adapters for USB charging, but not the new Apple adapter for the iPhone 5. I haven't tested to see how many times I can recharge my iPhone 4S with the RAV, but I'm guessing it will fully charge the phone 12 to 15 times given that a 7800 mAh battery I have recharges the phone 4 to 5 times.
I've only fully recharged the RAV from zero power once and I did it overnight so I can't say exactly how long it took. But if it charges at a steady rate from start to finish it takes about four hours to go from zero to 100%. I'm basing this on the fact that it took about 1 hour to charge from zero to 25% and two hours to 50%.
I can't speak to its durability yet but so far I have no complaints.
After I bought it I saw another battery (Poweradd(tm) Pilot Pro 32000mAh) that I probably would have bought instead of the RAV had I seen it earlier because it presumably provides almost 40% more power. It costs $30 more than the RAV and is 8 ounces heavier, but I'd make that trade off for the extra juice. But some might prefer the RAV rather than carry that extra half pound around with the Poweradd. The few customer reviews it has on Amazon all rate it very high as do the RAV reviewers.

UPDATE - Feb 2016
After having used this battery for a year and a half I'm pleased that it has held up well. I have had no problems and it functions as well today as it did when it was new. I use it primarily for travel and I estimate it's only been through about 40 - 50 charge cycles, but there has been no discernible decrease in performance. It still provides more than a 100% charge to my Yoga 2 Pro. I have no complaints and have been very pleased with this purchase.
I've used this external battery for two months and its been awesome! I've been charging my Macbook Air over and over but the battery has not been giving me less power. Its still very long lasting and it takes the same amount of time to charge it. Extremely satisfied! I will update this review again if any problems pop up but so far so good.
This is the best external battery I've ever owned. It can charge my MacBook Air, my iphone, and my iPad at the same time. It's very high capacity so it gives my MacBook Air about 4-6 more hours of use. I use the T-Head Power Bank Male Connector DC MagSafe 2 Cable For Apple MacBook Air Pro 5.5x2.5mm to charge my MacBook Air. It should work for other laptops, and mobile devices too.
Came in a nice box with many accessories to charge different devices. Very satisfied!!
