In a nutshell, this device did not work properly with my Note 5. When plugged into the wall, the charger sill only charge my phone to about 70%, even after being on the charger for 9 hours and starting at 38%! When I unplugged the unit and charged my phone on it from its battery, it worked perfectly!
I emailed their customer support and the emailed me back immediately! They sent me another one which arrived in 2 days! They didn't even want me to send the first one back! Unfortunately, the second one performed exactly as the first one did, so I am thinking there is a compatibility issue with the new Samsung Note 5 and 6 Plus Edge.
I bought Rav Powers regular (no battery pack) wireless charger and it works flawlessly.
Again, RavPowers customer support gets 5+ and I will definitely do business with this comapany again!
I deducted one star because I'm not a big fan of the beep noise that the charger makes when your phone is connected. As another reviewer pointed out, any smartphone can make a noise (often the screen comes on too) when the phone starts to draw a charge. Having the beep alongside this is unnecessary, especially since it's a little bit loud (it startles my wife at times). I've never had an issue (as apparently some other reviewers have had) of this beeping throughout the night, only the initial connection. I have no issue with the lights.
Overall I definitely recommend this device since you get the battery for not much more than the cost of a standard wireless charging pad.
1) When you put the phone down on the pad, it beeps to let you know it's charging.
2) It's rectangular, so you don't have to keep moving the phone around to find the right place.
3) You can unplug it and take it somewhere and charge the phone, unplugged,
4) My tiny human child thinks it's a phone, so when he clamors for my phone, I can give it to him and smile as he holds it up to his head and it does whatever magic QI chargers do to his brain.
The only negative is the very bright battery level lights on the front. They make it hard to use as a bedside charger.
Finding the 'sweet spot' can be challenging with some chargers and some phones, but this was easy. The indicator status lights are very useful. The phone began charging the moment I placed the phone on it. All in all, this is a very good value.
A) Construction is good but the plastic used on it seems a little bit cheap while it isn't very good looking neither. A matte finish would have been great.
B) If you're gonna leave it permanently in your desk (for example in the office), the industrial design isn't very good because the microUSB port (which is used to get the RAVPower charged) is at the bottom of the front-facing design. Therefore, if you have the RAVPower plugged in to the wall, and the charging outlet is on the other side of your desk (most likely this will be your situation), the front facing design will finish upside down. It's not a matter of life and death but it makes some change, at least if you love good looking stuff.
All in all, it's a very good Qi-enabled charger.
This charger charged my Droid Maxx at least as quickly as the corded charger.
I have been using RAV's RP-WCN7 for about 6 weeks now. It seems to charge as quickly as the 2-in-1.
