I'm pretty picky about my alarm clocks for several reasons: brightness, number size, and sound. I'm terribly nearsighted and the numbers were big and bright enough to be visible at 15 feet. I'm also sensitive to light in a dark bedroom and this clock doesn't create that nimbus of light around it that so many of my previous clocks have. Finally, it is loud enough to get me up at 3:30 AM but doesn't make the neighbor's dog howl (yes, this is actually a problem). Cheap, functional, compact, and one of the best I've ever owned.

Originally bought the clock with the large red display. It's a good clock, but I didn't like the number lights. The picture shown makes it look like the light bars are solid red, but each individual bar is a bright red dot in the center that dulls out on either end. It's almost dizzying to look at number that use a lot of bars. I returned and exchanged for the smaller green display.

Now for the replacement (green display)... again, it's a good clock, but the front plate is upside down, as shown in my picture. I was going to return it, but everyone in the house found it funny, so we're keeping it. It's really only for our TV stand since FIOS doesn't have clocks on their new cable boxes. As long as it tells time; it's fine.

We bought two of these for our 6 and 9 year old so that they could start getting themselves up for school.

It's well made and sturdy, but still small and lightweight
It has the option for batter back up
The buttons are simple and functional, no unnecessary fluff
It is easy to set the time, alarm time, and alarm on/off
The display brightness is easily adjustable
The snooze button is large and easy to press
The volume is loud enough to wake whomever is in the room but loud enough to hear down the hall

I wanted a clock that I can see from across my smallish studio apartment. This works fine and has a din/bright setting as well. For $10, Can't be beaten.

All I wanted was a clock that I could see and easy to set with a back-up battery. Well, there are just three slide buttons on the back. 1) Alarm on, alarm off 2) dimmer high/low 3) set time/set alarm/lock On the top front is a large snooze/cancel button. One side of the bar has the hour to set and the other side of the bar is the minute to set depending on whether the slide switch on the back is set to time or alarm.

That's it ... simple and easy. However, what I did do is put a piece of velcro on the bottom to keep the clock secure on the bed-side stand. I have a habit of thrashing around in my sleep sometimes.

I bought this alarm clock because of the color of the numbers. My kids have sensory issues and I didn't think glowing red numbers would help. It's hard to find an inexpensive alarm clock without red numbers. And since my expectations were low (like literally just tell them what time it is) I didn't think it could do that wrong.

Now, we always felt like the music setting was annoying. Push one button to turn it on, and a different one to turn it off. But mostly because 3-5 year olds are really good at turning it on, but not so much with finding the button to turn it off. But if course you can live with that. This alarm clock had one job and couldn't do that. Three months after buying we began to notice the time was often an hour or more off. At first we thought it was the kids. But then my husband watched it change on its own. The minutes are always right but the hours keep changing to whatever they feel like. So 3 months in and we are already looking for a new one. Don't waste your money, skip this one.
