All in all it works but I always feel like returning it. when you press the button a million time to change the channel.
We suggest choosing a starting point then let your digital tv run a scan every 2-3 clicks of the rotor. Once signal(channel) is found, mark location by clicking MEMORY and letter A, to keep the location in the rotor memory.... click rotor again 2-3 more clicks scan again mark location B repete these steps being sure to press memory and a letter marking channels with next letter until rotor-antenna has made a complete circle. Once you have found general signal locations you can come back and fine tune using the <> buttons for highest signal strength .A complete rotor signal scan can take 6 hours if you scan every click.
*Make sure your rotor and coax cable do not twist round and round the pole.
*We suggest using the small RCA antenna it includes all in one mounting pole/bracket similar to satelite mount/pole for about $40 on amazon I paid $65 at Walmart.
*If you watch tv thru 1 rotor location and want to save on power choose your
signal location on rotor, then turn off power the rotor.
The only problem we have expereinced is having to sometimes slight re-adjustment in signal location. Becuase of that I gave it 4 stars.
When I got the new one and opened the box, i ended up opening the trap door where the wiring connects to the rotator. The first thing i noticed is one of the wires broke off that comes from the motor. It needed to be resoldered on. What kind of quality is that. I did the 360 degree test and made sure it went around once. Thats where dejavu came in. It locked in place and wouldnt go the other way. I could hear the motor humming but it would not move. I had to look up online the RCA customer service (which is audiovox in NY). The representitive actually asked me how I knew it wasnt turning. After i explained to him it doesnt go the other way and is stuck, i was told that it doesnt sound like that is supposed to happen. Basically they were useless. I ended up taking the motor out and pulling everything apart. It appears the motor is mounted a little off so the gears are not matching correctly. I ended up drilling out the motor mounting holes a little bigger so i could manually move the motor around as i tightened the screws and got the motor gear to match better. So far it goes back and forth now without issue, but if i had a choice to do it all over, DONT BUY THIS BRAND OR ANYTHING THAT LOOKS LIKE IT THAT SAYS MADE IN CHINA IN FINE PRINT.
It shows you how to mount it. It goes on to say mount the mast and antena. Then further in the docs, it says the unit must "learn" the positions. It goes on saying how to do this and adds "you must do this before attaching the mast".
What? It just told me to attached it a page or two back!
Then it doesn't go into enough detail on how to teach it andd how the buttons work.
I finally got it working by trial and error and it seems to be fine now.
To teach it you have to hold two buttons down for quite a while. My fingers hurt. It went from 0 to 99. Then I let go. That seem to did the trick.
It seems to have 36 stop points, so each point is 10 degrees. You have to hold the arrows down to advance or return. It takes a second to move one point, so I assume it adjust smaller degrees in between.
Must say I get good reception out here in the country.
