REAL JESUS TWO: Abba's Way Kindle Edition
“Real Jesus” is a three-volume presentation of Jesus that I believe best suggests his imagined life. Suggestion is all anyone can do regarding Jesus. If you are a fundamentalist, you will not want to continue. I am not your enemy or adversary. I simply do not believe any existing texts regarding Jesus can claim to know the full truth of who he actually was. Or is today.
Conflicts over the lives of persons more accessible to scholars are frequent enough to suggest that even if there was a fund of reliable data, we would end up with what we think, not whatever the actual case may be.
What I have written is a reliable account of what seems to me a reasonable suggestion of who Jesus might have been. It is speculative but will tickle scholars who perceive what I have done. It is not the Jesus of the creeds. It is not the Jesus of outlandish miracles. It is the Jesus who attains the most realized state of being and understanding I am able to imagine.
Make no mistake. There is much in Christianity that is dear to me. The language of “Jacob’s Ladder” speaks to me. I would love to believe Jesus lives and his father is similar to the Abba I imagine in this presentation.
I have no problem imagining that something like this might be the case. But this musing does not lead to a religion.
My Jesus is a pilgrim on a way. It is Abba’s Way. Jesus teaches what Abba teaches him. Miracles follow but they are all things we can do as well. They are the actions of someone endowed with gifts that come from pursuing the way of Abba.
Jesus has massive power in the world precisely because Abba’s Way is the only force capable of turning the world the few degrees necessary to morally evolve to a state of nonviolence. economic fairness, and creative living.
That at least is my sense of things.
My three “Real Jesus Volumes” cover an imagined childhood, an imagined adolescence and an imagined young manhood. Each consists of three sections divided into short chapters.
This volume covers Jesus from age 16 through his early twenties.
A fourth volume, “Posthumous Jesus” imagines the state of things following Jesus’ death. I assume what we call heaven enables communication of the sort that dominates these pages.
Abba converses freely with Jesus. We can converse with Abba.
On occasion, others in this heavenly state converse with persons on earth and in heaven.
I imagine Jesus and St. Augustine had a verbal tussle in heaven. I imagine Mary communicating with a young French girl in the Fourth Century.
A final note about the word “real” in my title “Real Jesus” In the philosophy I have derived from “Abba’s Way” – I call it “Triadic Philosophy” – reality is seen as being all, everything, all there is. Its reality is the substance of the values that one can apply to its elements, regardless what we call them. Wittgenstein’s atomic facts might do.
Reality is more than what we see. It is also what we do not see. Reality is more than what we now can prove. Reality is in us and beyond us. We are at the beginning of a time when reality will be revealed exponentially, evolving us all.
Binary notions of physical and metaphysical, body and mind, good and bad require a serious makeover.
Triadic thinking is proposed as a basis for a universal – individual-created – spirituality.
I believe the ideas inherent in Triadic Philosophy are gaining traction and will be our framework for the future.
The ideas are not original. The only thing that is original is what unfolds as time elapses.
Enjoy “Real Jesus” and imagine you can have such conversations by simply doing what Jesus does as his journey commences.
