It goes into the 4% rule to an extent, and points out what I hadn't seen before regarding it such as that you could take out more than 4%, and still be fine + the fact that as people age, they spend less, and won't use 4%. Gives a better perspective to how much of your current income you'll need to replace in retirement.
The best thing that I learned was that since I've already worked the 37 years, that as I replace lower earning years, my benefit will increase, and that I actually don't have to worry about working 'forever'. No longer any stress surrounding this confusing benefit.
I liked the final conclusion point for going into retirement: pay off your mortgage.
One area that I need help with, trying to back into the figure that SSA advised me on my 2020 SS statement. The bend point calculation for the year 2030. They don't seem to be conspicuously published on the social security website. I only found up to the year 2021. This is the final piece to my SS puzzle. Josh, can you assist with this, are they available?
