This album will rock your world!! It became my favorite album the day I purchased it, and I own over 1000 albums on various formats. The first day we got it, my wife and I listened to it 4 times all the way through! Great blend of styles, from country on 'Hillbillies on speed' to Irish drinking music on 'Tom Grey's Dream'. This is a CD everyone should own!!

I saw this album while looking for some reverend horton heat. I'm glad I did. This is definatly one of my favorite rockabilly bands. The titles alone were enough to make me want it. Chuck Hughes is a great guitarist. He's up there with the Rev, Brian Setzer, Eddie Cochran. The drums are great, The bass is too. This and "Our brand" are both highly recommended by me.

Some people don't know what "true" rockabilly is. "Rev It Up With Taz" is a taste of true rockabilly. Most songs are right on the money for making you tap your toes, whether you want to or not. There are only three or four that this disc could have done without, but that is strictly my opinion. Overall, it is really hard these days to come up with a CD that has every song rate a 10 and this CD accomplishes that on the majority. If you like to crank it up, this is worth the listen.

The Hillbilly Hellcats used to play at Southside Johnny's here in Colorado Springs on a regular basis. I really like their original rockabilly music. If you're tired of rockabilly bands that play nothing but cover tunes from the 50s and 60s, then check out the Hillbilly Hellcats. These guys do original tunes and are guaranteed to rock your socks off.

I love this album and this band. This may be my favorite of all rockabilly albums that have been recorded in the last 20 years. Style-wise, I would put them in between the Stray Cats and the Reverend Horton Heat. They do a good mix of straight-ahead rockabilly and psychobilly, fast and slow, and sound like they're having fun doing it.

Chuck is as good of a guitar player (and singer) to me as Brian Setzer or the Reverend are, and the guys backing him up kick some serious a**, too. Check out this album and "Our Brand"....both worth your time if your a big rockabilly fan like me.

The Hillbilly Hellcats play modern rockabilly in the style of the Stray Cats and the Reverend Horton Heat. They have excellent songs with up-to-date lyrics that are humorous, witty and self depricating.
Both Hillbilly Hellcat CD's were recorded with Taz Bentley - the ex drummer of the Reverend Horton Heat and Tenderloin. Both CD's were on the College Music Charts (CMJ).
