So I always make sure I have an 1875w hair dryer. I like the power. I have longish very fine, very thick medium curl hair. I got this hair dryer out of the box & scoffed at it. It was so light. And when I turned it on it didn't seem very powerful. I was so doubtful.

Then I used it. You could have blown me over with it I was so surprised. Normally I'm lucky enough to get my hair slightly dry in a few minutes. In about 3 my hair was 3/4 dry. And that was on warm! The hot is very hot. I didn't even try to use the diffuser yet. That works just as well. It's also very nice looking. My daughter loves it be a use it doesn't blow as hard & a bit quieter than my old one (note I didn't say it was quiet - just quieter, it's a hair dryer.) I had my doubts and now I certainly don't. I love this hairdryer! So glad I bought it. Definitely recommend it.

Perfect if your new to ionic/infrared dryers

This dryer is my 1st venture into the ionic/infrared realm. Like most I would notice my hair was much smoother after a salon blow out vs at home. Yes pricey dryers can make a difference; but changing to ionic infrared will achieve smoother results at home. Believe it or not it lives up to the smoother claims. The force of air isn't the powerful blast of scorching heat I'm used to but still dries hair quicker than regular dryers. Hair is smoother and overall the dryer is less harsh on hair. It's a basic model, only 2 heat levels and high or medium blast options. Basic but for the price its perfect. Only drawback with this type of dryer is it doesn't create lots of volume. Trade off of sleeker strands is less volume. If you're strictly looking for volume boost stick to plain old hot air dryer. If smooth less damaged hair is your goal this is a perfect intro into the ionic realm without risking your budget if you decide it's not for you.

I’m not sure what kind of job a $200 hair dryer is supposed to do but I was pleasantly surprised with how fast this hair dryer dried my very thick hair!

I had an old Revlon 1875 tourmaline, ion, ceramic hairdryer that died after several years and I replaced it with this. First off, this one is much bigger, bulkier and heavier. Second, I feel like it doesn’t dry as fast as my old Revlon hair dryer. Perhaps the fan isn’t as strong since it’s much quieter than my old one. I also feel like it doesn’t get as hot as my old one. I could keep this one pointed on the same spot on my head for a while and not feel uncomfortable with the heat. That said, if the red lights are meant to be infrared lights with a purpose other than just decoration, I don’t think they serve any purpose at all or add to the drying abilities of the product
