I don't have any negative things to say about these fans. They work as intended, look as NZXT intended them to look, and I am satisfied with that. My only gripe - which isn't for the fans - is that the X52 cannot be set to the Candle mode, where its LEDs flicker. The fans and the Hue+ strips however support that mode.
If anyone is wondering, the case is a Lian-Li PC-O6SX. Black aluminum, smoked tempered glass window, all screw assembly (no rivets that I can see). It's heavy, tall, but very thin. It's extraordinarily difficult to build in but the result is worth the effort.
Edit: The pictures are sideways even though I took them with the correct orientation.
The color given off isn't obnoxious like other fans I've tested, The lighted section is like a smoked acrylic material so the light is well dispersed and subdued a bit a plus in my book.
As for the cost... These come with a range of cables for daisy chaining fans together that you want to have synced. They come in a short and long variety to give you some choice in positioning. The directions however say you should only string three fans together per control channel.
The HUE+ comes with two channel so if you're using a massive case with many fan locations you'll need several HUE+ Controllers. So this can become an expensive setup especially if you wanted to use NZXT's LED strips too. But if you want a premium RGB Product for your next build look no further as of this posting 04/2017 these are the best you can get.
I do love these fans. They're bright, vibrant and overall look really great. I did buy the 3 pack. I only have 2 issues with these fans. 1 of the 3 fans has a very faint rattle. I can definitely hear it in complete silence, but when I'm watching videos, or playing games, I don't hear it. The second issue being the NZXT Cam software. It has it's fair share of issues. After booting up my PC, it tends to get stuck on "Loading CAM 0%" and never moves. The lights do stay in the color and effect that I initially put them on, but for whatever reason the software itself wouldn't load. I noticed it's a common problem with others from reading up on it. I've actually had to uninstall, and reinstall the CAM software multiple times just to be able to actually use the software and change the color/effect of my fans.
Pros: Very vibrant colors, great effects.
Cons: One fan has a rattle (may vary), CAM software that controls the lights needs a lot of polishing.
