Jari Love is quickly becoming one of my favorite fitness instructors. I am an intermediate exerciser and was apprehensive at first because many of her videos are rated more toward the advanced level. However, even beginners can do Jari's videos because she has various people showing different variations of each exercise. So don't let the Level stop you from trying her videos. I had hit a plateau due to thyroid, hormones, and genetics and though I've just been using her videos a few weeks I am starting to see changes. She uses compound exercises so that you work arms and legs at the same time to burn 3X the amount of calories. Also, the music is great and even though the workouts are challenging they fly by. You might notice when they list the amount of weights that Jari and her staff uses that it is not always correct information because you can often see the amount of weight marked on the dumbbell is different from the screen. So don't worry if you have to use lighter weights, take frequent breaks, or use the simple alternative to each exercise. The bottom line is if you do the workouts to the best of your ability pushing to your healthy max and try to eat right results will come. A very fun and effective workout. The music is fun and motivating. I love the way Jari created a very challenging and effective workout and made it lots of fun. Every body part is totally worked. I love the new direction that Jari has taken in her workouts, you still get a tough effective workout with great music and Jari has an encouraging, brighter and more upbeat personality. Jari Love's Slim & Lean is exceptional! It's not easy to find a workout this good. Jari's style is fantastic -- she's friendly, not annoying in any way, not overly perky, just incredibly solid and motivating. She exudes a gentle confidence that is contagious. And the actual workout is amazingly good. You truly will have results. You will know you've worked out -- no fluff here. :) I love all her workouts. --jarilove.com

Rush through cool down. She has twenty years as a trainer. She should emphasize the importance of cool down stretch. She spends less than five minutes after an hour long work out
Music kinda sucks
Background trainers have no personality. Craig looks so nervous and stiff but who cares they arent annoying so Thats good
This DVD is different than the other Ripped! discs because it incorporates cardio workouts. After every toning exercise there's different styles of cardio. This disc also features a choice to play the workout with cardio modifications, which is nice if you're newer to working out or just don't feel quite comfortable with the workouts yet.
Two things that I love about the DVDs is that no matter what level you're at you can use them; there's three people along with Jari who demonstrate the workouts at different levels, so whether you're a beginning or advanced you can use this DVD. Another thing that I like is that if you're rushed you can selected any exercise you want. (My older workout DVDs I'd have to fast forward through the workout).
I love Jari Love DVDs now. She's not cheesey and doesn't just do workouts without explaining them. She'll explain the form you're supposed to have and what muscles you're working. She throws in an occasional "Good job", "You can do it", and "Looks good on you", but she's not cheesey about it.
This DVD is challenging, but you can always pause and come back! She's like a personal trainer any time of the day!
There seems to be some debate over whether a person could really burn 1000 calories with this workout. Typically, I am averaging between 800 and 1000. My caveat on that is: once I became familiarized with the moves, I do not stop or break in between sets. I try to jog in place to keep my heart rate up and the sweat flowing. It may not be helpful for everyone to do that but it works well for me. If you are looking for a DVD that will integrate both cardio and weights, I would highly recommend this one.
