UPDATE: Turn on "auto-play next episode" in AcornTV settings and the player won't get stuck anymore. It does, however, randomly switch to screen saver but I think that's intended to avoid playing to an empty room sense streaming requires bandwidth.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: AcornTV streamed beautifully for the first two weeks. That was several months ago and since about 2 weeks after subscribing it freezes constantly and goes to a black screen. To unfreeze it, I have to back out to the episode selection page, select Resume Episode, find the time stamp where it froze, fast forward 10 seconds and then watch and wait for it to freeze again which occurs anywhere from 10 seconds to 15 minutes later. Sometimes I'm booted out of the AcornTV app entirely all the way back to the FireTV home page.
None of the suggestions from AcornTV Customer Service worked.
Other users have been stating in their reviews as long ago as 2016 that the app freezes. It's now December 2021 and the SAME ISSUE is still happening. Evidently, AcornTV is NOT going to fix this so if you want to try AcornTV just know that if you are one of the unlucky ones whose AcornTV app freezes, it isn't going to get better.
