Remove the WheelAfter pressing the tires, place the tires on the turntable and prepare to disassemble the tires. First, remove the outer tire opening from the rim. When removing the tire, be sure to place the tire pressure sensor (valve) at a position about 20 cm in front of the crowbar (turn clockwise). After removing the outer side of the tire, we lifted the tire up without moving the steel rim. |
Install a New SensorUse a screwdriver to separate the sensor body from the valve stem. Install the new sensor |
Install TireWhen installing the tires, apply lubricant evenly on the tire openings of the new tires. Then use a tire pressure gauge to inflate the tire through the valve. |

These worked perfect on my wife's 2009 GMC Yukon XL. They look almost identical to the OEM sensors that they replaced. These were installed at Discount Tire for $21 each. I bought the set of four and I am having them replaced as the old sensors stop working. So far, I have had two installed. Each time, when picking up the vehicle they tell me that they couldn't get the car to detect the new sensor after install. But, each time when I get in the car it is working perfectly. I'm not sure if it is just their scan tool, but it does seem to detect the sensor as it should and works perfectly. The picture of the sensor on the white box is this product from Amazon, the picture of the sensor on the wheel is the one it replaced (oem). To me, they look very much like the factory sensor. Also, Discount Tire said that these look like factory sensors and said a lot of the sensors people bring in often do not work. I would buy these again and hope this review helps.

Finally worked when using the VXDAS programmer device

I installed these in my 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500 tires, but the method of entering setup mode in the truck (holding down the check button when on the tire pressure screen and waiting for the two honks) and then letting air out of the tires did not work. The truck entered setup mode, but never connected with/recognized these devices. I was disappointed, so I saw the “ VXDAS Auto Tire Pressure Monitor Sensor TPMS Relearn Reset Activation Tool OEC-T5 for GM Series Vehicle” device commonly sold with this product, so I figured for $10 why not try. Using the VXDAS device worked! The description of this product makes it sound like all you need to do is let air out of the tires when the truck is in learn mode and no programmer required. That was not the case for me. The $10 programer was required in my case. Others can do what I did... first purchase and install these and if they don’t work, then buy the $10 programmer.
