Claire Rye started to explore the world of writing in 2015 when her flair for the written word was discovered accidentally. She kept an informal blog while travelling through the United States and Europe. Claire found that her love of the unconventional helped her to look beyond the superficial. She discovered the ability to see ‘the story behind the story’ of the people and places she encountered.

An overwhelmingly positive and excited response to her travel blog triggered a curiosity that lead to an expansion of her story telling.

Gripping and Suspenseful

In Rock the Boat, Zoey wins the cruise of her dreams, five days and five nights in the Caribbean with some of her favorite rock stars. The "Shipload of Metal", as it is called, features a roster of rock/metal bands on a cruise. The plot of this book really appealed to me, as I actually went on a cruise a few years ago that had a "punk rock" theme and featured numerous bands that played shows on the ship. Like the novel, I was able to meet most of the band members. My cruise, however, was nowhere near as suspenseful and exciting as Rock the Boat.

This book has an incredible cast of fascinating characters, such as R.P. Lighter, Roman Phoenix, Cindy Phoenix, Charlie Woods, and the main character, Zoey.

The cruise starts off much like the one I went on, exciting and entertaining. Until someone is found dead. Zoey then finds herself in a situation she had not anticipated, in the midst of an investigation that could involve a murder. I won't give away who dies or how they meet their ultimate fate, but the real mystery begins at this point.

This book is full of suspense, mystery, romance, and nostalgia. Furthermore, it's one of the most unique and interesting mysteries I have read in a very long time.
