Product Description

The RODAR II Ultrasonic Pest Repeller is the super powerful professsional ultrasonic pest repeller based on more than twenty years of engineering and field testing. Its super tansducer blasts out ultrasound (at 23 to 55 kHz) with up to 60 and more times the power of other ultrasonic devices (that make preposterous claims). And power is what makes the difference - both in size of area covered and how effective it is in any size area. You need all the power you can get, within safe limits, and RODAR II is completely safe. RODAR Ultrasound, as loud as a jackhammer - unbearable to pests, but inaudible to humans and pets - drive pests out and, better yet, keeps them from getting in. Use RODAR II wherever pests exist or are a threat - home, office, vacation home, farm, restaurant, storage area, kitchen, attic, basement. . . Protects up to 3000 square feet

I was skeptical that any of these ultrasonic devices would actually work at all. But, I have to say, this unit, the Rodar II, totally got the job done. I'm impressed. I had a squirrel problem in my attic, and this one pesky bugger just loved waking me up on early weekend mornings. The day I placed the Rodar II in my attic was the last day I ever heard of Mr. Squirrel. He left for the much quieter neighbor's house. Like it says here, the unit is practically silent. You can faintly here a very very light clicking, but in my attic, it's all but forgotten. I just leave it plugged in up there all the time, and now I can get some needed extra sleep on weekends. The unit itself is small. For some reason, I had gotten the idea that it was much larger in the pictures here, but that's likely because there's nothing to reference it's scale to. It easily fits behind ductwork in your attic or basement. It has a reasonably long AC power cord too, so you'll likely not need an extension cord.

I was skeptical as well having used different units of this type over the past many years. This is without a doubt the only ultrasonic product I've ever used that actually works. We've had this unit installed in the attic for 3 weeks now and no more squirrels. In fact the squirrels left the attic very quickly (within an hour it appeared) and have stayed away. The Rodar II is more expensive than the other ultrasonic products out there but it is well worth it, especially considering the 3000 sq. ft. coverage.

I owned one of these many years ago (my ex-wife kept it) and had no mice problems after getting it. Many years later, when I found a mouse in my house, I bought a new one - problem solved! Don't bother with the cheap imitations. This one is the real deal. We just bought one for my mother-in-law and her mouse problems are also a thing of the past.

We had bats. My wife hates bats - I don't mind them if they stay outside. This product was the only one we could find that stated that it worked with bats. We put up our RODAR II about a month ago - and so far, so good. No bats (no elephants or tigers either). There is absolutely NO audible sound.

My house sits on a 1/4 acre lot & I have 22 oak trees on my property that come blessed with many, many pesky squirrels. Every spring they tear open the cushions on my back porch that are used for my recliner & two lawn chairs, & use the padding to line the nests for their up & coming offspring. They also like to dig in my flower pots & scatter dirt all over my porch. I became tired of the mess & of replacing the chair cushions every year, so I started doing some research on the internet on the availability of what's out there to ward away the rodents. That's when I came across the Rodar II Ultrasound Pest Repeller & decided to purchase it even though it had mixed reviews. I was in need of trying something, just anything, before the vivacious little critters got the best of me! I put the Rodar on a little table at the beginning of spring, 2013 & to my surprise a squirrel hasn't even come close to my porch. They are all over my yard, romping in the trees, drinking water out of my birdbaths & making every effort to get bird seed out of the squirrel-proof bird feeders, but they NEVER come on my porch any more to destroy anything. Am I happy with the Rodar II? You bet! 100% happy! I'm going to get one for my attic just in case one of the mischievous little varmints tries to play havoc with my Christmas decorations that I store there.

This unit was a Godsend. I had flying squirrels in my attic. Huge house, about 100 feet tall, and nobody would go on the roof to find where they were getting in. Every morning at 5 am I'd hear them running over the ceiling in my bedroom, as they came back. After one week with this unit they were GONE. Thank you!

PS Let me add that I just heard that realtors as a general rule will not list a house that has flying squirrels because of legal issues.

I bought the RODAR II on 10/12/12. The first thing I did was put in in the yard with some corn nearby and turn it on. In a few minutes, the squirrels were running all around eating the corn and ignoring the RODAR. Then I read the instructions more closely and was informed that it may take several weeks before the RODAR was effective. I thought, OK, and moved the RODAR up in the attic where I have had a squirrel/mouse problem off and on for many years. I positioned the unit to point directly in the area of the noise and was within 30 to 50 feet of the activity. After a couple of months, it seemed as though the RODAR was doing its job as I would only rarely hear any disturbance from above. This morning (1/10/13), I was awakened by a continuous scratching noise from the attic in an adjoining room to the master bedroom. I knew the RODAR was only a few yards from the source and decided that it was not going to perform as advertised. I hit the upper wall a few times with the flat of my hand and the scratching stopped for a few minutes and then resumed. I said, "well that's that" and went to the attic to retrieve the unit for a return to Micron Corp. I called them to see if I needed an RMA number and was informed to just return it for a credit. Noticed my bill said paid by ck which I guess means check but remembered that I used a MasterCard debit card. Included a note to this effect and will see what they do about the refund. My conclusion is that these units really don't do anything to deter the activities of squirrels/mice. If the word gets out that I have removed the unit and I see a significant increase in activity in the attic, I may reconsider and next time try two units. I'll update this review in that event. Hopes this helps with your decision to purchase the RODAR II.Read more ›
