Update: I just used the pair of straps, connected together, to secure a large Costco pizza in the box across my back seat and saddlebag tops. Drove a mile home, pizza was totally secure and undamaged. Also secured a large backpack stuffed with 4 full large binders. What's next? Case of beer, small pet cage? These straps are the real deal.
With their one-inch width, and cinch-style length adjustment, ROK straps create a firm hold on the items being secured - that is to say, they are truly secured. ROK's cannot roll and rotate off the items, and with the stretch section comprising a high-density, anti-UV cloth covered elastic an inch wide by about 5/32 thick and 9 inches long, the likelihood are stretching out and becoming weak &limp is all but eliminated. I have a pair of these several years old that are as good as new, and I have used ROK's to tie oversized heavy packages on my bike with 100% security. I personally also like the loop-through style, which eliminates the danger of hooks damaging things, but hook end styles are available, as far as I know.
I have zero complaints except that the excess strap length sometimes drags on the ground if you don't tuck it up, but it's not a big deal.
Impossible to lose a hook, or poke a hole in cargo.
Made with high quality materials.
The only thing these could use is a retainer of some sort for the tail of the adjustment strap so it doesn't flop around in the wind, I slid an o-ring over the buckle and tuck the tail under it, works pretty well.
