Andy Caldwell is a retired detective from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and he is presently serving as the pastor at Mill City Christian Church in Mill City, Oregon. His distinguished law enforcement career resulted in him receiving multiple awards and having cases he worked featured on America's Most Wanted, Dateline, and Court TV.
I've got all the books about the O.J.Simpson trial and when I saw this on Amazon I decided to order it and after reading it I'm glad I did! No matter what O.J. claims about just getting his stuff back, there was clearly much more to it than that. And this is from someone who believed that is just what he was doing. I thought he felt ripped off by 3 people (one of whose book I've also got) and when he found out they were making money off his personal things he was just going down to take them back. After reading this detectives report and story, I now realize how much more complicated it all was. O.J. IS an actor, and it comes out that he's a pretty good one. Thank goodness he went into acting and not politics-- he has that winning personality that can convince you that he's just a good guy out to do the right thing. It's so scary when that mask slips...
Although I am not one to normally leave reviews, I felt compelled to after reading Room 1203. The reason for my desire to write a review is that I have personally known the author for many years. As many other reviews have stated, the book is well written, interesting, funny at times and easy to read. What makes this book stand out to me though is that I know that it was written as accurately as humanly possible. Andy is not the type of person to dramatize or add half truths just to sell more books. So, if you want to know what happened during the investigation and trial of OJ Simpson, give this book a read.
This is a fascinating read! The author did a excellent job of explaining how the evidence was gathered. If you enjoy reading about how a genius detective interviews suspects, this book is for you. Also it was interesting to read about the timeline of how the investigation took place, and how the media tried so hard to make this case something different then armed robbery. I really liked the mix of reading about the authors Family, Friends and Co-Workers. This book offers a unique inside look about how real police work gets done. Definitely worth reading.
Awesome book! I had the honor working with Andy as a patrol officer and a detective. I can think of few that were better cops or men that I've worked with. This a great fact based book written by an honest, good cop. Get a copy today
