I've a lot of the popular ceramide products out there (mizon, kikumasamune, dr jart, holika holika) but I got the itch to try something new. So I got this.
I was surprised at how light this was. It has a medium thickness but when rubbed into my skin it melts and feels like water. I also like that it's unscented.
It doesn't leave a heavy feeling on my skin, but is very sticky. My suggestion is not to apply this to damp skin. I found the more damp my skin was when I applied this the more sticky my skin felt.
This absorbs very quickly, it only takes about 10 seconds after applying.
I only need about a dime sized blob for my entire face and neck, if I'm feeling a little more dry than usual I'l add another dime sized layer over that once its absorbed.
Despite the stickiness this works well under my makeup. It doesn't cause pilling or streaking, and the stickiness disappears when I apply products over it
Like a lot of ceramide products this is really soothing. I tend to get dry, itchy red patches on my face, especially after exfoliating. My skin does still occasionally feel a bit dry but I don't get anymore eczema patches on my face (no more red, itchy patches!)
I found this to be more hydrating than other ceramide creams I've tried. My skin looks more plump when I use this.
The only thing I miss with this cream is the lacking of brightening. I didn't notice my skin tone looking any more even when I used this
Pros: Didn't cause me to breakout (dry, acne prone skin)
Didn't irritate my sensitive skin
Soothing, light watery feel
Decent size for the price
Great ingredient list
Didn't interfere with my sunscreen or makeup
Cons: Very sticky when applied to damp skin
Didn't make my skin any brighter/more even toned

Many people compare if to cerave lotion. Both have the same ceramides 1, 3 & 6 ii, etc. But cerave is also loaded with petroleum by-products, heavy-duty preservatives and parabens. One of them, propyparaben has safety #7, according to cosdna. As you know, the higher this number, less safe the ingredient. Why risk it? Additionally, cerave has niacinamide, which is a great ingredient as long as you are not using vitamin C. Many studies warn against using these 2 ingredients together.
Basically, comparing rosette ceramide gel to cerave is like comparing an elegant and sophisticated chanel perfume to the trashy jessica simpson drugstore cologne. Nothing wrong with the later if you like the smell, of course.
Speaking of smell, many early reviews noticed that rossete gel has no smell. Not sure if the product was re-formulated, but the one I received has a very strong, rather off-putting chemical smell.
Otherwise, this gel is great for reactive, irritated skin. Especially, if you are using retinol or retin-a, and have dry skin. A dime-size is enough for entire face and neck. Using a little spatula and cleaning it between usages, will ensure that the product will not be contaminated for a long time.
I love the way this little spatula fits on top of the jar. Usually these guys are so small, they always get lost. Having a plastic ring to hold the spatula in place is ingenious, and I wish other cream/gel manufacturers did the same.
I love multi-purpose products and appreciate that this can be used as both – a day time moisturizer and night cream.
Overall, very happy with this ceramide gel. It is gentle, non-irritating and absorbs quickly. If you find it to be a bit sticky, mist your face lightly with rose, aloe etc. You will love the feeling of your skin.
I do have some pointers that would help to get the most out of it -
1. Ceramides can cause cystic acne in some people. If you wanted to check if they might for you before buying this product, go to Walgreens and purchase CeraVe Moisturizing Cream (it's very similar in that it has the same ceramides, but the Rosette Gel does have higher quality ingredients). Use the CeraVe for a few days/nights and if it doesn't break you out, then this product shouldn't either. You can take the CeraVe back to Walgreens for your money back even though you opened it and used it, just make sure you have your receipt.
2. Again, the Rosette Gel has much higher quality ingredients than the CeraVe, specifically the Macadamia Nut Oil (which is great for your skin and non-comedegenic) and it doesn't have the occlusive agents that CeraVe does. This means that you can use the Rosette Gel underneath a cream or oil moisturizer and those ingredients will penetrate through the Rosette Gel. This is especially great at night if you want to use a high-quality anti-aging or moisturizing cream on top of the Rosette Gel.
3. The product absorbs much better if you use a serum underneath. If you put it on bare skin it tends to be more sticky. I layer a number of serums before putting on the Rosette Gel, but you can use a basic Vitamin C serum underneath and it helps absorb the product better.
4. If you use too much it will be sticky! You really don't need very much of the Rosette Gel at all to get full coverage. I use about a nickel size for my entire face, neck, and chest. It's better to start out very small and then add more if you need it then to use too much initially.
5. The product also absorbs MUCH better if you pat it into your skin instead of rubbing it in. Asian skincare is designed to be applied this way.
6. Since the Rosette Gel has hyaluronic acid (sodium hyaluronate), you'll get more out of it if you spritz your face with a really nice toner mist or even plain water after putting it on. The hyaluronic acid will pull the water into your skin and have even more of a plumping effect. This step is absolutely essential if you live in a dry climate (I'm in Colorado) because they hyaluronic acid will pull water from your skin if it's not getting it from the air.
7. The Rosette Gel is an absolute must after any kind of exfoliation, especially after a chemical peel. It repairs the moisture barrier that was just lost after the exfoliation. This was a total game changer for my skin. It's also good for use during winter for the same reason.
8. Make sure you are using the scoop provided. This jar lasts a really long time and if you are sticking your dirty fingers in the jar every time you use it's definitely going to grow bacteria which will then go on your face. Yuck.
9. You can also use a bit on your knuckles, elbows, knees, and anywhere else you might have dry skin. I've even used it on my feet and my cuticles. It's especially effective if you use it on one of those areas and then put the tiniest bit of vaseline on top.
Hopefully this all helps. The Rosette Gel was overall much more than I expected it to be and I'm so glad I found out about it from Reddit.

The way my skin responded to this product although instantaneous, was confusing because there were positive results but eventually lead to negative results with worsening of acne. It was difficult to pinpoint at first if my skin was responding well or getting worse. I have dehydrated, acne prone skin. I checked the ingredients list before purchasing and thought despite there being mostly (there are 2 potential irritants for some, but ymmv. PEG 400 and carbomer) safe ingredients for sufferers of acne/irritated skin, I would give it a go. Almost immediately the type of acne I was having changed from being entirely cystic to closed comedones everywhere, but still with some cystic acne. Anyone who has cystic acne knows that it's a relief to have them reduced, so I presumed this product was helping. It took sometime (months) before my acne continued to change to the point where I was concerned. I still had the cystic acne, though not as bad and my skin was softer and more moist. But the closed comedones were getting worse and I started to get large pustules almost overnight. They wouldn't clear. I made the excuse to myself that maybe the cystic acne was getting better and clearing out, because my skin was softer and retaining more moisture. This was a silly and naive mistake. I blamed everything else that I was using, but finally figured out the Rosette Aqua ceramide gel was the only product I hadn't suspected as being the culprit. By this time my cystic acne wasn't shifting at all, I had large pustules and closed comedones. My face is and was a mess.
My pseudo scientific slow introduction skin routine failed me, because I made excuses for this product due to it's minimally positive effects given my skin craves moisture (no, drinking more water doesn't fix this problem - please read up before commenting). Sadly my quest for a suitable and reasonably priced ceramide gel continues. I've stopped using this product for the past week and my skin is starting to clear up. My skin still desperately needs a routine that doesn't see it ravaged by acne and dehydration, but this isn't the product to help with that for me.
