Based on old fashioned salt keepers, the jars, known as "salt pigs" have a small knob for carrying, and a large hooded opening resembling the snout of a pig including ears, a curly tail and a 4" spoon. It will hold approximately 6 ounces of your most frequently used salt. Discover the ease of keeping salt near the stove in this adorable Stoneware Salt Pig. A must have for any kitchen, this stoneware salt pig makes a wonderful gift.

Fortunately, after reading a review here I recalled purchasing BambooMN Brand - Carbonized Brown 3.5" Round Head Small Solid Bamboo Spice/Salt/Sugar Spoons, 10pcs for another project. Leveled off it holds approx 1/3 teaspoon, and heaping it holds approx 1/2 teaspoon of Black Tai Salt Co.'s Finely Ground Himalayan Salt.
The little wooden spoon is much more attractive than the metal full teaspoon I keep inside my covered Blue Calico bowl on my kitchen counter which holds many, many times what "this little piggy" does, but since I no longer need to consume at least a full teaspoon of salt daily it will suit my needs admirably. I'm hoping the spoon in my dark blue pig scheduled to arrive tomorrow fares better.
Even if it does I will alert Amazon of the problem with this one since it's far from an isolated case and the seller needs to deliver ALL parts ready to do their job ALL of the time.
