Pestle was broken on second use

When I first used this pestle and mortar set, it felt solid and was comfortable to ground up herbs. On my second use to ground some herbs, the pestle broke into three pieces. Upon close investigation, I saw several fault lines already existed on the pestle (probably due to poor quality assurance). The breakage appears to be imminent with the existing fault lines. Please inspect your pestle and mortar as soon as you receive them.

The material is solid and heavy as it is expected (it is real marble). And it works very well.
Just beware once you wash it the green paper velvet on the bottom will fall apart.
The only reason I am not giving five stars is because the color is more grey than white (as other Amazon costumers reviewed).

It BROKE!!! I seriously only used this item a handful of times and the grinder broke this morning. Item never had any hard knocks or drops. Very sad I am out of the return window.

This is a beautiful, durable, functional grinder. I’ve used it to process my fresh dill, parsley & chamomile. I’ve also used it to grind granulated sugar into fine sugar for devil’s food cake. It’s also great to do a light grind in order to make seasonings more uniform in size when making things like taco seasoning or a ranch base.

There's a notch in the rim to hold the pestle. I like this.
What I didn't like was the poor quality control. The mortar from the initial order had some kind of adhesive inside it and the rim wasn't thick but the pestle was perfect. Replacement order had a perfect mortar and a broken pestle. No sense in sending back two orders. I kept what was good and sent back what wasn't.
