Product description

The Edelbrock/Russell Speed Bleeder replaces the original bleeder valves in calipers and wheel cylinders with a spring-loaded one-way ball and check valve design. This unique check ball design opens to allow the old fluid and air out and closes automatically between the pumps preventing the old fluid and air from re-entering the line. A special coating on the speed bleeder threads keep it from admitting air into the system and keeps expelled air and fluid out. The check ball is centerless ground 410 stainless steel which resists corrosion and galling. It features a patented thread sealing system that displaces air and moisture during thread engagement as well as eliminates air from being pulled back into the system during bleeding.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice, but.....
By Lee & Erin on July 17, 2018
I like these bleeders, however, they will not work on a 2005 Silverado 2500HD as Amazon says they will. Even some local shops say these will work on my truck, until I showed the manager the difference in the threads. He stated their software is mainly using the YEAR of the truck and may not be taking into consideration that I have the HD version. There are other online stores that show they will NOT work with my truck. These might fit the standard 1500 Silverado or the NON-HD version, I really do not know. I have attached a picture of the old and the new bleeders to show how different the threads are. I did not even try to put this in my new caliper because of the difference in the threads. It would not be right to give the bleeder a bad review based on Amazons mistake of saying it would work with the 2500HD. I have had other speed bleeders that work great so I'm sure these will work fine on the correct vehicle. I returned them because the thread size was not the same.

1.0 out of 5 stars Did not work.
By Jaime on March 17, 2021
I used these for my 02 Mustang, Could not bleed the brakes at all. Huge headache because I trusted these too much to be working.

I spent days trying to figure out why my brakes weren't working. In hindsight it was obvious but I didn't think these would fail out of the box and I was replacing many parts of the brake system all at once so it was hard to find what had failed. Basically I could not properly bleed the brakes due to these speed bleeders. They threaded in by hand perfectly, were the same shape and size and yet didnt work. Small amounts of fluid would come out but not like the stock ones, in 20 pumps i was barely able to fill the tube I was using to drain the fluid, put on the stock ones and was able to bleed the brakes again no problem. I put speed bleeders from russel on the front and rear, the rears did not bleed, and the fronts leaked small amounts of fluid when braking. Sometimes negative reviews for these types of products are user error, not tightening enough, or not loosening enough, or not understanding how the product actually works, this review however is not the same. I looked at the manual, I watched youtube videos, I looked through the russel website as well. they were tightened much more than i would the stock bleeders, they were seated properly inside because I can see the wear marks on the cone end, they didn't leak along the threads, and the black caps that were put on them shot off on the first mile I drove them leading me to believe that they were letting some pressure and brake fluid escape out of the nozzle some how. It doesn't make sense that if they seated properly that fluid or air was able to escape past the cone seating and yet here we are, tightened down and pressure still building inside the rubber cap some how. There are many similar reviews and forum postings about people having the same issue, wish I would have seen them before, would have saved me some headache.
