Arrived with a lot of little nicks/dings/scratches. Shipping box was undamaged so this was minor factory damage. The pre-installed hinges on one of the roof panels had pulled off and all the screws were completely missing. A lot of holes that were supposed to be pre-drilled were non existent. All things that should have been easily caught and corrected before being shipped. Luckily there are a few handyman types in our house so we were easily able to do this ourselves. Otherwise it was easy enough to assemble.
Directions for adding the roof panel supports/hinges need to be clearer and again, no pre-drilled holes where they were supposed to be. You'll probably need a little drill to put this thing together!
Agree with other review that the upper level needs additional ventilation in warm climates, we cut out another window in ours.
So, decent hutch and not that hard to put together if you can handle some minor drilling.
Update: I have now had this hutch for a little over a year. Our rabbits really like all the space and seem happy with their homes. They especially enjoy chewing on all the wood! The wood is very soft and they have a great time chewing the heck out of it! I also bought the exercise pen from Ware that can also be used with this hutch, again, chewed the heck out of it, but it's still standing. I moved the hutch into our barn for the winter because it just is not weather/wet resistant at all. Wood against wet ground = rotten wood.Read more ›
- Very cheap wood - you can break most parts with your hands easily if you tried.
- Some parts were already broken on arrival, not key parts though thankfully - hopefully nothing too important breaks for future buyers.
- Instructions are primarily in German - there are English "summaries" of each step but they're not detailed at all and a lot is left up to common sense.
- When finished, the lodge looks beautiful.
I bought this enclosure because I was getting my girlfriend a bunny lodge/bunny rabbit for her birthday. My overall experience has been neutral because I haven't had any HUGE problems yet other than inconvenience. I was able to muddle through the instructions and get it built, the broken pieces weren't of large importance, and thankfully the rabbit we adopted has no front teeth so he can't do any damage to the cheap wood.
I bought another hutch lock for the second floor because the designer thought it'd be a good idea to have one lock for BOTH swinging doors. Rabbits are smart animals and if pushed the right way, the locks can be jiggled loose. The only plus about the cheap wood is that you can easily install addons to this cage without guide holes because the screws will push in with ease.
Because of my unique situation, this cage has been alright so far - I can see that for most people though, some of the hardships described here can / will be real problems.

Wow...there were several issues with this. One of the side panels had a board out of the tongue and groove position. It was like this when they assembled it. Read morePublished 20 days ago by Ricky L Doan

It came with some bolts missing and a piece of wood that was cracked.I still think it looks cute.I would have liked it to come with to come with more bolts and a better hinge.Published 11 months ago by Julie Davis
This hutch is very cute! My rabbits love it. The only issue I had was that after about 4 months the ramp to the top floor fell off and left exposed nails. Read morePublished 11 months ago by Gina C
Totally not worth the money spent. One bracket for the flip open roof top was incorrectly labeled, so we couldn't finish the construction of one side. Read morePublished 12 months ago by Reba

Bought this for our indoor rabbit because the dogs wouldn't stop messing with her when she was in a crate. She loves it, always running up and down the ramp. Read morePublished 13 months ago by Amazon Customer
