Editorial Reviews
Review
"Eidswick (The Language of Bears, 2017) portrays his protagonist with great depth; Strait is a stoical combination of grit and emotional vulnerability. In addition, the author artfully raises provocative questions about the fraught relationship between race and institutional power. Finally, there's plenty of gripping action here, cinematically depicted." - Kirkus Reviews
"Part of what makes The Rabbit Skinners more than a one-dimensional mystery surrounding a kidnapped child is that John Eidswick takes the time to explore small town relationships, from infidelity and dubious friendships to the social and political connections that make or break a small town's people. The Rabbit Skinners embraces themes of good and evil, courage and fear, prejudice and love, and an unexpected touch of romance. Mystery readers will find it a compelling read from beginning to end." -Midwest Book Review
"A solid, engaging and disturbing story with rich prose and curt dialogue, a noble protagonist whose flaws make him fallible, and a believable portrayal of the undercurrent of racism and violence that can infect a small town. Readers will find it well worth the price of admission." - BlueInkReviews
"The story rings true on many levels, from the suffering inflicted by Meniere's Disease and survivor's guilt to the details of professional detective fieldwork and the obstacles of bureaucracy. Themes of courage and strength in the face of adversity and evil help to make The Rabbit Skinners entertaining and compelling." - Clarion Foreword
"Everyone should read this book." - Goodreads Review

This deserves to hit the New York Time Bestsellers List. I don’t give 5 star books often but this book deserves its due.
I encourage the author to continue developing his craft.everyone is not meant to tell stories but I believe he is and will probably be one of the best in the world
This story has the best and the worst of mankind laid out in excruciating detail. Horribly believable and relatable. It only took me two sittings to finish this...and despite all the muck I was able to laugh out loud at several passages. Well developed fast paced tale that left me looking forward to more adventures with these guys. Good one!👍
AS I SAID BEFORE THIS IS ONE HELLUVA STORY WRITTEN BY ONE HELLUVA WRITER, AN EXCELLENT READ.
