Advanced HEPA Filtration
Typical HEPA air purifiers trap allergens and contaminants, which accumulate on the filter and interfere with efficiency. The BioGS HEPA filter traps and reduces common allergens* to support optimum filter efficiency and prolong filter life.
BioGS HEPA Filter vs. typical True HEPA Filter
Typical True HEPA filter:
- Traps allergen and particles 0.3 microns in size at 99.97% efficiency and over 99% efficiency for particles less than 0.1 microns
BioGS HEPA Filter:
- Traps allergen and particles 0.3 microns in size at 99.97% efficiency and over 99% efficiency for particles less than 0.1 microns**
- Reduces buildup of common allergens including dust mites, mold, pollen and pet dander* trapped on the filter
- Reduces the growth of bacteria and viruses on the filter***
- Prolongs optimal filter efficiency
*Test samples: mite allergen (Der f2), cedar pollen allergen (Cry j1), 4 types of mixed spores (Aspergillus niger, Penicillium citrinum, Chaetomium globosum, Myrothecium verrucaria), Cat allergen (fel d1)
** Test data shows our HEPA filter (brand new or like-new) can trap particles 0.3 microns in size at 99.97% efficiency. Research data shows True HEPA filters can trap particles less than 0.1 microns in size at higher than 99% efficiency. For more info, see "Guidance for Filtration and Air-Cleaning Systems to Protect Building Environments from Airborne Chemical, Biological, or Radiological Attacks" by Department of Health and Human Services, pp. 11–12, or visit Rabbit Air’s website for details.
***Test samples: type A influenza virus(H1N1), Escherichia Coli, Staphyllococcus aureus
Stage 1 - Pre-filter (washable and permanent)
Traps and reduces large sized allergens, dust, and particles.
Stage 2 - Medium Filter
Traps and reduces airborne particles larger than 1 micron in size, such as pollen, mold, and pet dander.
Stage 3 - BioGS HEPA Filter
Traps allergen and particles 0.3 microns in size at 99.97% efficiency, and reduces common allergens to support optimum filter efficiency and prolong filter life.
Stage 4 - Customized Filter
Choose from a variety of customized filters including Germ Defense, Pet Allergy, Odor Remover, or Toxin Absorber.
Stage 5 - Charcoal-Based Activated Carbon Filter
Made of high-grade granular activated carbon, our AC filter is much more effective than typical AC filters, which are coated with a thin layer of activated carbon. Chemicals and common household odors can be effectively reduced.
Stage 6 - Negative Ion Generator
Produces beneficial negative ions to fortify the air you breathe and freshen your indoor environment.
Adaptable - The MinusA2 is designed to either stand alone or to be mounted on the wall.
Smart - A light sensor will automatically transition the unit to sleep mode when the MinusA2 is in a dark room, and resumes a more active mode when light levels increase.
Thorough - The MinusA2 SPA-780A/N air purifier can filter the air in a 815 sq. ft. room twice an hour on the highest setting with a CADR of 200 Pollen, 193 Dust, 180 Smoke (or 700 sq. ft. with CADR of 171 Pollen, 173 Dust, 166 Smoke for SPA-700A)
Ultra quiet - Cutting edge BLDC Motor operates at five speeds with noise level ranging from 20.8 to 45.6 dBA for SPA-700A (25.6 to 51.3 dBA for the SPA-780A/N)
Economical - With filters lasting up to two years with 12 hour daily operation, and our Energy Star certified motor.

The big shocker: I took it apart, just because I am a curious person, and saw that they used a very high quality Panasonic brushless motor. This was icing on the cake on an very well built air purifier, a motor that 99.999% of the customers won't ever see and they chose to use top tier motor rather than some generic Chinese one. Little details like foam gaskets on the filters, magnetic closing mechanism for the latch, and even the pleasant chime goes a long way in making the high price worth it.
The verdict is, if you have the money, you should very much get this because an air purifier is something that is run 24/7, might as well get the best.
The app itself while being version 1 works well, no bugs to report yet.
1. It doesn't hold onto the settings if you lose power. It takes me a few days to notice that the air cleaner isn't running while I'm not at home to then go in and reset all the settings.
2. The schedule is a list of slider bars which change as you try to scroll to see the lower bars, unless you can tap just exactly right on the edge to scroll but not trigger a change.
3. You can't set different schedules for different days of the week. I would have liked being able to have a weekend schedule different then the week day schedule.
4. You can't get and graphs of the air quality over time, which is super disappointing to me, however didn't weigh into my rating.
While 1-3 are still problems, I can't say the upgrade cost is worth it to existing owners.
I have 2 dogs, a cat, and was worried that there would be pet odors. Since getting this purifier, people have actually commented as to how fresh it smells in my place. And that the air feel lighter.
I have the germ filter, although I don’t know what the difference is between what the filters do. I’m not sure it entirely makes a difference.
I can really see how hard the machine works when I cook dinner. The purifier doesn’t like any kinds of smells, so when I cook dinner, it freaks out a little bit and will run on high until all of the cooking odors are gone.
I’ve had this machine for a month and am absolutely loving it. I don’t regret my purchase at all. I would also recommend it to anyone who asks.
Anyways, the Rabbit Air was advertised as the perfect solution to our problem. We didn't really care about the smoke smell in the room, but we wanted to prevent it from permeating out to our associates' cubicles. After viewing the video of this unit absolutely destroying a smoke filled room (in a good way) we thought we had found the perfect solution.
We purchased the unit in anticipation of our office being completed in a couple months time, but you know how construction projects go... Anyways, I digress....
A few months later we finally had our office complete, and were ready to put this beast of an air purified to work! We installed the sleek and sexy unit on the wall by the employee's office door, slapped in the special "smoke-filter", and asked our employee to give his new office a test/break-in smoke.
He lit up his cigarette and almost immediately the Rabbit Air leaped into action. The blue "mood" light turned red, indicating that particulates had been detected, and the fans/motor kicked into high-gear. We were elated, and extremely happy with our purchase, so we stepped out for a bit to continue putting together the rest of the office.
Our elation doesn't last long, however, as we soon begin to notice the smell of cigarette smoke permeating our new office space. We figured we had just set the unit up wrong (even though it's extremely simple) so we took it down and put it back together again. This time we decided to leave it sitting on his desk, this way it would be right next to the smoke-source and ashtray.
We opened all the windows in our office building and waited for the smoke smell to dissipate. We then tried test #2, and the results were exactly the same - with the only difference being that we witnessed the unit inhaling ~90% of the smoke as it left our employee's mouth/cigarette, and then shooting ~50% of it out the sides.
We figured it was a filter problem, so we ordered a variety of different filters to try and mitigate the issue - we even had the unit on permanent "turbo mode". Unfortunately the problem persisted, and after months of testing/waiting for new filters/testing/waiting etc we eventually decided to cut our losses and switch over to an industrial solution.
The industrial unit we purchased, while 3x more expensive, performs 3000x better than the Rabbit did at its best.
With no use for the Rabbit unit, as it was either defective or simply didn't perform as advertised, we initiated a return request.
Almost immediately Rabbit responded with return shipping instructions and a pre-paid shipping label. While disappointed with the product, we couldn't ask for better customer service.
But then a few days later, after I had already prepped the package for return, I get a call from a blocked/unknown number. Not sure who it is, I answer hesitantly, only to be greeted by a Rabbit Air representative informing me that they had made the decision to no longer accept my return, and that they would be cancelling the shipping label they sent out. Talk about poor customer service...
Their rationale? The refund was requested past the "90-day Money Back Guarantee", so they were no longer obligated to take back the unit.
The problem? The unit sat for months as we awaited completion of our new offices. So yes, while it had been outside the "90-day" guarantee, the unit had not been operational for more than 60 before we decided enough is enough and to move on.
Rabbit understood the issue I was facing, and even went so far as to state that others had similar situations and they were willing to work with those individuals, but, (because of how far outside the 90-day window I was) they would not be willing to work with me any further, and that my only recourse would be to write this review warning others of their deceptive advertising practices. They wouldn't even be open to offering a discounted return, or coupons for discounts on future filter purchases should I decide to give the unit another try. Really really poor customer service in this particular instance.
--- IF YOU ARE PURCHASING THIS UNIT TO MANAGE TOBACCO SMOKE YOU ARE SETTING YOURSELF UP FOR AN EXPENSIVE DISAPPOINTMENT ---
Learn from my mistakes and go with an industrial solution. This unit may be sleek and sexy, but to me it's a $600 energy wasting brick...

ONE YEAR UPDATE IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!
the purifier stops filtering, changed the filters but no use, the fans sounds weird!!!
tried to contact their customer service but it feels like they're helpless.... useless...
wasted another 110 on a new set of filters NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL
Edited to add that it worked much better in a smaller room.
I love the style of it and should add that it came so well packaged. Each filter was clearly marked in what order it should be placed after the plastic was removed. Great product and very happy so far.
so far. Customer service is definitely great, thanks!
I bought this with wrong customized filter from my mistake, pet & germ defend is different, I was not aware of this at the time I made the order, when installed the filter and I realized it is not germ defend filter and contacted seller, they send me a germ filter that I need, very appreciated.
Recommend this to anyone plan to buy/change air purifier.
The only substantial complaint I have is regarding the delivery: “guaranteed Saturday” out of the blue became “guaranteed Monday” - and despite the costliness of the Unit, “no signature required” was written into the FedEx work order. The unit ended up sitting in the unwrapped box on my front porch until I could find a neighbour at home via telephone to bring it inside.
-Quiet in operation, even on higher fan speeds
-Automatically adjusts fan speeds based on built in particulate sensor readings.
-Air quality light indicator to tell you very roughly how good or bad the air quality is
Unfortunately, the software that comes with the $100 or so wifi upgrade isn't exactly robust. It gives you the ability to adjust some of the unit's settings, turn it on or off, and gives you a 0-4 scale of air quality. But that's really all. As of this review, the mobile app lacks what I would describe as user intuitiveness, or simplicity. The controls aren't very organized, and I've experienced a couple bugs as well.
Aside from that, it's a great product and I'd recommend to anyone looking to improve the air quality of their home. It's worth the money.
I own a few machine from 180 dollars to over $1300 dollars machine. This rabbit is the best overall quality . I have allergy with dust , so sensitive with air quality. After this rabbit clean my room , I can feel the huge improvement, and the app I use on my android smartphone is so convenient. I turn it on a hour before I back home . Don't waste your money on others , just buy this rabbit .
