About the Author

Physics makes Belinda's brain hurt, while quadratics cause her eyes to cross and any mention of probability equations will have her running for the door. Nonetheless, she loves watching documentaries about the natural world, biology, space, history and technology.

She's also a sucker for a fast horse, a faster computer and superhero movies. When she's not doing the horse, computer or superhero thing, Belinda writes science fiction (emphasis on the fiction), where she loves to write about butt-kicking girls who blow stuff up.

Summary:

In a world of the have and have nots, Hero has everything expect what she wants the most; the freedom to live her life as she pleases. With her friend and her companion at her side Hero is about to take the next step towards her future, the Twilight race. Now street races and very dangerous and illegal, but Hero is determined to take the challenge. The path is filled with dangers from the other racers, the teck used by the racers determined to take each other out, and the traps set up by the police who are determined to stop and catch all competitors.

This was a wild and dangerous ride as Hero uses everything she has, and some abilities she doesn’t know she has to reach for her dream.

This was an incredible audio-book to listen to. The narrator brought the story alive for the reader as the story unfolded.

I listened to this one right after listening to the first book. This one definitely helped a lot getting to know the characters better and understanding the whole story. The first book was a bit fast-paced for me. This book helped me make a bit more sense of what I heard in the first book.

I actually enjoyed this book a bit better than the first one! The races, and escaping!! So much fun and it keeps you on the edge of the seat. It’s a quick fun listen or read!
The narrator is the same one from book 1, so that was nice as well.

YA Fantasy - Fascinating World

A fascinating future world with crazy "organic" technology, including DNA splicing to make dragon-like creatures. The protagonist is young and in school, with all the drama of bullies and embarrassment. Hence, too young for me but still an excellent YA read/listen.
