We have a picky eater who has allergies. A friend of our clued us in to the fact that dogs with allergies could have problems with grain in dog food. Researched a little on the internet and turns out there's a lot of merit to that. We selected Rachel Ray's because it had more meat than most (we just walked Wal-Mart and compared labels till we narrowed it down to two). Our dog goes hungry before eating food she doesn't like and she gobbles this stuff up. After 9 months we have noticed her allergies are completely cleared up as well. Eye buggars and profuse feet licking (the vet said she's allergic to grass - really!) So after 6 years, apparently we don't need the eye drops and the foot spray. Just needed to change up her dog food. Vet didn't mention that either... amazingly the guy who sells us the medicines - go figure!

I have two of the most finicky dogs that ever walked the planet. They are eight years old; pekinese/shih tzu mix. I ordered a free sample of Nutrish with chicken and they devoured it. Since it is not yet available in my area, I bought some while I was visiting friends in another town, and both dogs are still eating this food. Happily, I will be able to order it here. My dogs seem to do well with Nutrish and are actually eating when I feed them. Nice to watch after eight years of turning up their noses.

Both of my goldens love this. We slowly switched over from Blue, no issues if you switch slowly. They loved blue too, but it was so expensive. Been using for almost two years now. Happy, healthy dogs! Thanks Rachel for a good, fair priced dog food!

This isn't the worst quality food you could feed, but it isn't a high quality product, either. Yet the price is comparable to premium quality holistic foods-- probably a marketing decision related to Rachel Ray's starpower? I purchased this during an emergency- an ice storm had begun and I was out of dog food, so I grabbed a small bag at a convenient store on the way home from work. My dogs ate it willingly, although they didn't love it.

Nutrish foods (both the chicken and beef options) have lots of indigestible corn, artificial dyes, and gluten. Corn seems to pass through most dogs nearly undigested, leading to large stools and wasted money. Gluten was the ingredient implicated in the tainted pet food scandals over the last couple of years-- it just isn't a wholesome ingredient, and it's one I tend to avoid. The good things I can say about this food are that it doesn't use yucky slaughterhouse "by-products", and that it includes great vegetable ingredients. Overall, there are worse options on the grocery store shelves, but this is an overpriced, less-than-great food choice for your best pal.

I'm not going to say this is the best food on the market because its not, but I do like it alot. My 6lb chihuahua loves it. Ive had no problems such as gas, vomitting, or poop issues.
Ive used pricier brands that seemed TOO natural in what they contained, as natural is whats recommended, and that did cause loose stools or gas, no matter how they were introduced. Cheaper I'd never go, but I feel that that NUTRISH beef/brown rice is a great option if you are on a budget. I consider it to be on the higher end of the affordable food options.

I am judging that by the ingredients, kibble size, smell, results, and experience with it, as well as how my dogs have done with it. I'd pay more for this food, but am grateful that its priced like cheap brands of dog foods that contain crap, (ex: corn as one of the 1st two ingredients).

This product is not advertising what it is not. I did notice that when I tried the chicken to vary, my pup would pass gas and eat more than usual, none of which we were used to- so back to beef+rice it is.

Our chihuahua who loves his food and has been on this since he was 12 weeks. We are getting a baby chow chow soon, and we will also rear on this dog food. I'd like if it were available in more places locally, but online at a discounted rate with free shipping works.

I do add some olive oil or fish oil once a week, as it works wonders on their coat. I Would recommend.

I bought this on a whim because it was on sale for such a great price here at Amazon. Our dog, a pit bull seemed to like it just fine. He ate it without hesitation, which says a lot with him for a dry food. He gets bored easily with dry food and will become more reluctant to eat it day after day. I do admit that a lot of his meals I cook myself, so that is why he doesn't always take to dry food so easily.

As for the nutrition, well, it's not the best you could buy obviously, but it is far from the worst and MUCH better than most of the brands you can buy at the grocery store or Kmart, Walmart, etc. Probably not something I feed exclusively, but it's not bad every now and then when it's on sale. At least the first ingredients are actually meat. Most bags in the grocery store start right off with corn or wheat. Ideally, you don't want that stuff at all, but not everyone can afford the very best.

We do have to be somewhat careful with dry foods with corn and grains, etc in them because our Tysie does get rather itchy and scratchy with certain foods. Even some that seem to be "better" than others have had him scratching for days on end. Nutrish did not do that to him, so it is on our "safe list."
