The only thing I could possibly come up with as a negative would be that the bell isn't a traditional bell...it has a plastic piece that you pull back and when it smacks the metal it makes the bell ring. The other thing would be, I'd like the tires to be solid rubber. They seem like they may be plastic with a rubber coating - but they are still better than those loud plastic tires some of the others have.
I liked that this ride on could be turned, albeit a small turning radius, vs a lot of ride ones which can only go forward or back. I also liked that the more narrow design vs a lot of ride on toys made it easier for our little one to get on and off.
We got this for his first birthday, but our little man is short for his age, so he still is just a little too small, but he loves being pushed on it, or standing to the side and pushing it. Another couple months and I am sure he will be riding just fine by himself.
Here's a fun image for you...sometimes my daughter won't even pedal herself around, she'll just sit still and ring the bell like Pavlov. Its pretty funny and she seems to get a big kick out of it.
