This is fairly sturdily built with plywood (the seat is a sheet of plywood, not springs or slats), which is covered by a 2 inch piece of foam. So I'm thinking that the comfy feel now won't last terribly long (here's hoping I'm wrong!). But I got this for a steal at the sellers actual website, and looking at the way it was put together, if the cushion needs replacing, I think I can do it myself with a little bit of effort.
As to color, this is a true grey/gray, no brown tints, no green tints, a straight up gray. If you had a gray-scale from 1-10, 1 being the lightest, this would hit at about a 7. Dark, but not excessively so. See pic I uploaded for color and sizing. The carpet is a beigey-taupe color and my skirt is a faded sage color.
And as to size, there is no way someone is "snuggling" with a Great Dane on this unless the Great Dane is using the human as a body-pillow. If they really are both able to fit, I want to see a picture - the human must be child-sized or something. You see me here in the photo, 5ft 8in and 175lbs. My dog, a mere 35lb Beagle-Spaniel mix can fit on the chaise with me (he was being camera shy when I took this), but his head is in my lap when he does come aboard or I have to sit at an angle so he can curl into a ball.
By sitting the pieces on their sides and using a wall as a brace, I was easily able to put this together by myself, without the frustration of a second pair of hand that have a brain of their own attached, lol. I find these sorts of things go better with one person putting it together.
Comfort: semi-firm but truly not hard in the least. It's much more comfortable than I thought.
Size: A little on the short end if you are tall- but I am no, so it's perfect.
Material: A+ seriously such soft velvet.
Color: A wee bit darker than the pictures- much more of a true "garnet" but that's what I was wanting
Packaging: I'm about 100lbs and could carrying this up to my apartment all alone- took some time haha- but still very well packaged.
This same chaise is selling on overstock for $210. This was $164 when I purchased- great steal!
I did not get assembly instructions, which ultimately is ok since easy to figure out and assemble. It just would've helped not waste time scratching my head wondering where the holes to assemble were. Mine came covered (shown in picture if you look carefully where my finger is you can see the holes underneath the cloth). I couldn't see them at first and thought I was going to have to return what I already fell in love with. The screws will easily poke through the cloth so if yours comes like that too don't panic. ;) The legs also have this white tip to make it easy to move around on carpet.
On the down side, it's a little short, so you won't be laying flat out on this. You could read on it if you bent your knees up, so this isn't something you'd nap on or lay down flat to read on. Not happening. But the material is gorgeous, and I'm happy with the purchase.

It’s not crazy hard but the pieces used to assemble did not completely screw in all the way.Read more
