Following immediately after the events of THE RAID, Rama (Iko Uwais) is forced to reinvent himself as an undercover cop in order to provide protection for his wife and child. Working for the anti-corruption taskforce led by the one person he can trust, Bunawar, he is given a mission to engage himself as an enforcer for a local mob boss, Bangun. Finding a way in through Bangun's son Uco, Rama must hunt for information linking Bangun with police force corruption. All the while, he harbors a dangerous and personal vendetta for revenge and justice that threatens to consume him - and bring both this mission and the organized crime syndicates crashing down.

I purchased The Raid 2 on Amazon a few years ago to watch for the first time and did not regret it at all. It was easily one of the most impressive and gruesome action movies I had ever seen, and I rewatched it many times since then. However, after revisiting the movie just now, I've found that Amazon has forced a beyond terrible english dub on my video purchase. The new english audio track contains immensely cheesy, dispassionate, and outlandish voice "acting", if you can call it that. After hearing just a few sentences, I can say for sure that I would prefer to have the original audio with english subtitles, just like how it was when I first bought the movie. The worst part is that Amazon doesn't give you a choice to revert it, there is only an English dub now.
Many times sequel movies are over hyped and wind up being not very good movies, but Raid #2 is as good as the first one. It follows the end in the first Raid, but you do not have to see the first one to easily follow Raid #2. The police officer, Iko Uwais, who survived in Raid 1 now, has to go undercover on a dangerous assignment. Those who love action movies will love the unique and imaginative scenes in Raid #2.
The fight scenes include just about every type of action you might desire in a martial arts movie. If you love well-made action movies that keep you riveted to your seat, this movie is for you. I loved it and will no doubt view Raid 2 again and again. Even though I am not sure which of the two Raid movies I liked the best, they both merit high ratings..
