I have used this power supply at least in 20 builds and it has failed a few times but so did Antec and CM and others. For the price you get excellent specs, semi-modular design, quiet fan, LEDs (like it or not). I will keep using this PSU because at this price there are not many options. So far those that went off the grid did not take any other parts with them, died quietly and peacefully. Amazon is great in replacing them. Those that worked through my stress-testing - still run years later.

EDIT: Price went up ten dolls and now it's not so pretty any more. I am looking to different brands now too.

This was my first experience with a modular PSU and I love it. It isn't fully modular and that is fine with me because I wasn't willing to pay extra money for that feature. I have a Cooler Master Elite 130 mini ITX case and this PSU made a huge difference with cable management. My only complaint is that the large fan doesn't spin a little faster. I have my PSU set up to exhaust air from my case (no real exhaust in my mini ITX case) and it doesn't pull out much air, just enough to cool the unit itself. Other than that it is perfect. Excellent build quality, great appearance, optional LED light is a great addition, and it doesn't make a sound.

UPDATED 6/18/2015
I have had this PSU for awhile and it has been terrible. Shortly after completing my build I heard odd noises and suspected it was my liquid CPU cooler...so I got that replaced twice. The noise persisted. I figured it was a cooling problem with the case so I switched to a larger Bitfenix Prodigy. The noise persisted. I though it was the fans, the HDD, or the video card. Nope. Turns out that whenever the PSU was heating up it would make a terrible rattling noise. Fortunately, Raidmax replaced it after I paid for shipping. Everything was great for a couple weeks until a different sound showed up. Again, I checked all the fans in my system and again the sound is coming from the PSU. I will not bother getting a replacement because I would rather spend the cost of shipping on a different brand. Needless to say, I will not be buying a Raidmax PSU again.

All my custom builds get these. I carry spares for virtually any desktop power supply failures. Sure, an old XP box only needs a cheap $20 300 watt supply. Want to upgrade the drives in that box to SATA? Not without adapters! Tight quarters in that old dust bucket? With this Raidmax you only install the cables you need. Want a more powerful video card? You'll need this. Looking to save energy? These are more efficient. You might pay a little more now, but your electric bill will thank you monthly. To bling, or not to bling? Just push the red button on the back.
For most applications these don't break a sweat, so NO fan noise! Gaming hard? You'd have to listen hard to hear this fan. Got a serious power PC that you think needs a thousand watt supply? Better put a Kill-a-Watt on it. I'm running an 8 core, overclocked liquid cooled beast and I'm only pulling 400 watts peak from the wall.

This is probably the third one I've purchased. Usually I get them to Newegg, but with shipping being free, it was better to do it through Amazon. Having the switch on the back turn off the LED is very helpful. Some people don't like the LED, so having that option really makes this universal power supply, Which means I can use it for the 16-year-old kid, or the 40-year-old man. Not this particular one obviously, but I have one that's been running for about a year and a half to two years, and no hiccups so far. Great Product!,

I haven't used any RAIDMAX psu before. I needed something which could potentially provide around 470 watts or so.
The psu I found in this coolermaster case was from some-no-name place & I would rather NOT chance smoking a $180 video card.

Config:
Asus M5A97 LE 2.0
AMD FX-4130
8GB Corsair XMS3 1066Mhz DDR3 RAM
500GB 2.5" WD & 160GB 2.5 Hitachi
80GB 3.5" Seagate & 80GB 3.5" WD Raptor
Coolermaster Green LED 120mm fan (came with case..icky green) rear
Coolermaster Blue LED 120mm fan (came with case..hate led's) front
Unknown brand NON-LED 120mm fan (came with case..yay no LED!) ceiling
Coolermaster 431 Elite Case

Old psu by ARK claimed 600watts, with 2 x 15amp 12v rails.

RAIDMAX RX-530SS psu claims 2 x 20amp rails.

RAIDMAX has a very good black matte finish. Fan looks good. Looks mean NOTHING in fans.
Single-loop plastic harness on the back of the PSU where the 'modular' mess is formed/begins.
Heatsinks visible in the psu are smallish/but otherwise the unit is unremarkable.
At least I've seen RAIDMAX psu's used in a few friends pc's and I do recognize the name.

A co-worker said "Oh yeah I've used them before, why'd you pick it?? Thought you liked SilverStone.."

"Can't afford a SilverStone..So cheapie thing..RAIDMAX..Dual 12v @ 20amp rails & somewhat modular cables, so I can drop clutter. I think it [RAIDMAX] might get closer to 500 w/o frying, haha, compared to joe-no-name [ARK] psu!" We joked about where are the animals?? Dumb name for a PSU ~~ ARK! Who could afford 2 of every part in their pc, ffs.

Pro's:
1 Cheap.
2 Works.
