Format: Audio CD
It wouldn't be hard to imagine any band creatively exhausted after the 1,2,3 punch of Car Wash,In Full Bloom and Strikes Again. But that didn't happen here. Even though it would wind up being the bands final set with original lead singer Gwen Dickey, this album found the band again on the cutting age. As Gwen herself stated in one of the songs "there's the disco craze that's got people partying for days, but my specialty and preference is a thing called the funk". Basically you could say that amounted to a one sentence description of the entire album. That "disco craze" in fact was at it's full throttle when the band made their fourth album. And was just about to completely burn out too. Also they were coming into a period when big collective funk bands was slowly coming to an end. Even bands with as experimental a tact as Rose Royce would soon have a rough going of it. All the same the band decided to deliver an album that was as surprising, powerful and diverse as anything they had ever made.

There's no irony as to prism cover art and title-this music could most easily be described as very colorful. As with the bands second album it opens with a ballad,in this case "I Wonder Where". It isn't too bad a song. Neither is "Shine Your Light",which represent the two lone ballads on the album. But they are wiped away completely by the high octane uptempo tunes that compose the majority of them.

This is a fair album, not one of my favorites, but "I Wonder Where You Are Tonight" is an all-time great in my book. It's a smooth slow ballad written by Robert Daniels. This track was my motivation for purchase.
