I wanted to try planting Organic San Marzano tomato’s in a container garden this year. Found the patio picker and figured came up with a plant 6 plants in each container. I ended up with 11 out of 12 of them . Lost one to a bad storm so I put together a rope trellis support system. The containers were strong enough hold the trellis posts strapped to it buy metal tie wire. I’m at the end of the summer and the system worked amazing and I have more tomato’s than I know what to do with. So far I’ve have picked over 175 and there is prob another 40 ripening . Definitely a great way to keep your crop safe from bugs and the water system is very neat and efficient. Has a lot of versatility. Only improvement I’d make is adding a built in trellis system because figuring one out to grow a lot of plants takes a little planning.
Seem to work well. Using for first time. Tomato plants seem to like it and are flourishing. I refill the water reservoir (bottom of the box) about every 2 days. Also I spray the top of the bed until adequate wicking of the soil is established. I must add an idea. A fine screen covering the water intake or in the intake tube to prevent mosquitos from breeding in the reservoir in the tub would be a great help and so easily added.

These self-wicking planters on roll-around casters are perfect for a patio garden. I love how easily they roll around in my pavered yard and of course they roll smoothly on concrete or a wood deck. This allows you to move them in and out of the sun on those hot days of summer. I have four of these filled with various pepper plants and they are STILL producing peppers in mid November here in SW FL. The plants thrive in these planters that feature a tube for filling the water reservoir, so only the roots get wet - and it comes with a piece of weed cloth that fits perfectly over the top and features a drawstring cord to tighten it in place. I highly recommend these planters!
I've been using mine as a nursery (putting seedlings in), once the plants get to a larger size, I easily scoop them out & transplant into ground garden. Once the season progresses, I'll leave 6 large leafed greens (excluding the fertilizer center), as plants will die w their roots in that strength). I like how easily it wheels in & out of my house for winter planting. The plastic is thin, the cover isn't as pictured, it's a fabric instead. I might buy another, but from Lowes or Home Depot $15 cheaper price & no ship cost. So I'd recommend for the convenience, just be aware of what you're getting. Tip: add a screen over water tube to prevent mosquito's in the reservoir at the bottom.

This is a great way to start seedlings, or for a semi-permanent herb garden. Very durable and great that it has wheels so plants can be moved when necessary. Also don't have to worry about overwatering. Have purchased two.
Not overly thrilled, what’s growing in here seems stunted and slow (tomatoes and basil). We’ve had a lot of rain over the last few weeks and the soil just stays to wet.
I love being able to move these containers around on my back porch. I like being able to put a variety of herbs in these large containers. I have two and considering a third one. It takes a full bag of soil. The tube is nice to be able to pour water in the bottom for the roots. I definitely recommend this raised garden bed.
