very excellent reference book to have on hand for raising kids naturally, giving symptoms and corresponding possible causes with remedies and suggestions. wonderful recipes reminding parents to cook special for children's special needs. I bought copies for my daughter-in-laws, This book is a refreshing straightforward approach as an alternative to the fear and anxiety prevalent in our modern culture. It is right there , like a friend with sound advice and easy to understand approachs to the joys of raising kids this easier way. Its easier because it takes the mystery out of why behavior or physical symptoms come about, and easier because it shows what to do as informed empowered parent.Of course the macrobiotic approach does take care and mindfulness and being centered in the home kitchen and avoids junk in food and your thinking.

I love the idea behind macrobiotics and using it to keep kids healthy, i.e., keep their diets low sugar (yes!), provide lots of vegtables (yes!), nourish the body (yes!) but some information in this book is dangerously wrong, such as stating that scabies is caused by sugar imbalance, not true! So, I take what I need from from this book and leave the rest.
