The disability impacts the whole family in this story. But Joy could not have crafted a more redeeming family interaction with such sensitivity.
In an age where inclusion is treasured this is a must read. I loved it for its sense of family with difficult circumstances.

The characters are unbelievably real, so that as I read I forgot that I was reading. You fall in love with the characters in this story, from basically perfect Christian to scatterbrained and quick tempered Lainey to the adorable, misbehaved Timber.
I absolutely recommend this book. I loved every moment and could hardly put this down. Even when I finished I just wanted to start over and read it again. It made me smile, laugh, and definitely cry. (Don't worry though, it has a happy ending.)
