Alpha Steel, Darla's grandfather, works with the human group that sent Jeffrey to bring Darla home to safety. Several attempts are made to capture Darla but Jordan and Jeffrey fight off all attempts. At Alpha Steel's colony Darla is separated from her father he must prove himself to be worthy to raise her he conquers his test the last one being defeat Montague. Jordan wins the fight he is reunited with Darla and before Alpha Steel dies he shares his plan for shifters and names Jordan his successor.
Action from beginning to end. Jordan and Jeffrey are great together and Darla is intelligent and a hand full. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.
This one was definitely interesting and different when it comes to the shifter books I have read in the past. Some things were hard to believe but it was a solid read.
I think what this book had going for it was the two MC's and the non-stop danger they were in. The story keeps us moving along with feel of them being caught right on the heels of every stop they make.
The little girl, Darla was hard to like. She spent the majority of the book demanding things and throwing tantrums until she got her way. There were a few heart melting moments between her and her father, but not enough.
The romance between Jordan and Jeffrey was a slow burn that didn't have enough heat for me even though I did like them together. I just wish we had more time of them being a couple but with how fast things moved it was hard for them to have much alone time.
In the end it was enjoyable and would love a second book.
Happy reading dolls! xx
