Ramsond solar panels use the most premium components and raw material. Ramsond solar panels use only 'Grade A' quality, high purity silicone cells. Ramsond does not incorporate used, rejected, refused or second-hand cells into its solar panels. Furthermore, Ramsond utilizes the most advanced technologies in the production of its panels, such as a fully automated, microprocessor guided, precision, robotic arms guided soldering process of the solar cells. The solar cells are coated with a blue nitride anti-reflection coating. This special coating process provides a uniform blue hue color and increases light absorption in all weather conditions. The encapsulation and lamination process used with Ramsond solar cells consists of a process that ensures true atmospheric vacuum and encapsulation of cells within lamination layers of High Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (High-EVA) and DuPont™ Tedlar®. Each panel is equipped with low-iron, patterned, tempered glass. The glass has been manufactured, again, through a proprietary process, providing up to 60% more strength, as compared to conventional photovoltaic (PV) glass. As a result, Ramsond panels are among the world's strongest, with hail impact survival index rating of 25mm@80 km/h. This means the specialized PV glass of Ramsond panels can withstand hail size of 1+ inch, traveling at speeds of approximately 50 miles per hour. Ramsond solar panels are framed in heavy duty anodized extruded aluminum with drainage/mounting holes. The aluminum frame is specially produced for Ramsond solar panels and is designed to provide a perfect balance of technology, style and function. Now, I am producing 220 to 240 watts consistently. I purchased a second 100 watt panel and just installed it. I am producing 380 watts on a cloudy day. I can't wait until I have steady sunshine. But, to get to the point, once I had received the Ramsond panel and inspected it, it looked to be of lower quality. Boy, was I schocked!
After what I have experienced so far, Ramsond has won me over as a long term customer. I plan to purchase 12 more panels from
Ramsond and three charge controllers. I am also checking into their wind turbines. The one I purchased from Northern is not performing very well.
I had also received a call from Grant with Ramsond just to see if the product had arrived in good condition and was operating properly. In this day and age, I was impressed that I would receive personal service on such a small purchase. The company is very interested in assuring that their products meet their customer's expectations. I will not hesitate to recommend this comapny or their products.

I ended up buying a total of four panels, for a 25% over capacity of projected max load. Mounted on the roof of my 21', bumper pull travel trailer, the panels are powering a DC system consisting of two 6vdc golf cart batteries (series connected for 12vdc), a Sunforce 30 amp charge controller and a GoPower 300 watt true sine inverter. The four 100 watt Ramsond panels easily power my typical load of a 26" LCD TV, AV sound system, satellite receiver, solar hot water circulating pump, and a 8" Honeywell 120v fan. On an overcast day, starting with batteries in float, they remained in float at around 13vdc with about 14amps driving the inverter.
According to Ramsond's 25 year warranty mounting holes may not be drilled in the panel's frame and the electric connections can not be modified. So to maintain the warranty, be prepared to buy MC4 connectors (not a bad thing) and you will also need to put thought into how the panels will be mounted using the panels stock mounting holes.
My RV mounting design incorporated Intstapark ZJ-05B spoilers to cut drag and reduce wind load. Using the ZJ-05B spoilers also allowed easy access to the RV's, 48" center, roof supports. To insure that unsupported span distance was not violated, custom Z-Brackets were installed at each of the panel's pre-drilled holes. The Z-brackets are screwed to the RV roof (EPDM over 1/4" plywood) into steel, hollow-wall, anchors. All roof penetrations were liberally covered with EPDM compatible lap sealant. Inspection after the initial 500 mile shake down trip uncovered no panel damage and the mounting points remained tight and secure.
It arrived in excellent packaging (by ground), with 1" or more of styrofoam padding all the way around and double-boxed. Only a forklift could have damaged it.
It worked (and still works) to spec (as far as my instrumentation shows).
I haven't seen a better Watt-per-square-inch panel than this one, meaning that I had limited roof-space for the panel to fit into, and this one has a pretty small footprint. So that was one of my main decision points, and this panel allowed me the most Watt-per-inch return for the cost. Very pleased that it fit into the space I had, and that I get the watts that I wanted.
I would order it again, no hesitation.
