Sydney, a private school veteran, steps out of her comfort zone after graduating college to try her hand at being a horse trainer. While interviewing for the job Russel, head ranch hand and former bull rider, does everything he can to get her to not take the job. As the story progresses personalities clash, dreams are awakened and family will tear them apart or push them together. This was a wonderful cowboy themed romance story by A.J. Wynter which focused on being where you were loved and doing what brings you to life versus following someone else's dreams and plans for you.

OMG I'm so in love with this book ! I absolutely loved every second of the read . From the beginning when Russ was so rude to Syd lol ! You knew that had to be some chemistry brewing between them . I almost lost it and cried my eyes out but it all came together in the end ! If you don't read this your missing out on one of the best books I've read this year and I've read a lot lol I mean a lot ! I read at least two books a day . So when one gets me this good it's an awesome read .

She had always had to work hard in her life to get were she was but was it for what she wants or was it what her parents want and expect regardless that it's not what is making her happy. The first 20% of this book had me wondering if this just was not a book I would finish. It was a little heavy handed on the Texas cowboy, redneck theme which was a turnoff for me.
Shortly thereafter I totally committed to finishing it. Wynter has a way of grabbing you and not letting go.
Russ really sold me on the story, even though he was a major jerk early on. Sydney, the smart and beautiful city girl, was actually a natural country girl at heart. What a waste that she'd spent most of her life trying to please or impress her parents.
What a waste of time for them that it took so long to realize what they needed to do to find happiness.
There were a few things that bothered me about the characters. The cow hands were a typical, textbook group who tried to demonstrate that 'The amount of booze they drank was enough to kill a herd of cows.'
One of my favorite things in the book were the beautiful descriptions of the ranch and people. One stood out, 'He wished that he could stop time and capture the way that Sydney looked sitting cross-legged in the candlelight with the daisies in her lap, but he knew that no photo could capture the beauty that was in front of him. "

Can Russ trust Sydney? And can she trust him with the most important thing of all?

I absolutely loved this book about Russell and Sydney. Sydney is from a wealthy family of doctors and works hard with no play to receive top grades to get into medical school as she is following in her family's footsteps. But is this what Sydney wants? The only time she is truly happy is when she is with her horses. After she finishes her college educations she decides in a drunken state to move across country and become a horse trainer for her break before Medical School.

Russ is the lead ranch hand on the Blackgum Ranch. He was a star on the rodeo tours until he fell and broke his back. He thinks what he is doing is all he will ever be able to do. He has worked his way to lead ranch hand and horse trainer and has his own living quarters separate from the ranch hand bunk house. He also is tasked with training the new arrival of wild mustangs and can't wait to get started. But after a couple of the ranch hands get into a brawl over a woman and one breaks his hand, they are left short-handed.

In comes Sydney. She has applied for and gets the job of training the new mustang horses. Russ is not happy because he was looking forward to this training and also, Sydney has to take over his living quarters as she can't be placed in the bunkhouse with the rest of the gang.

Russ is not happy - AT ALL. So he takes it out on Sydney. Sydney doesn't know why she is being treated so badly by Russ but can't stand him as well. Until they both discover that they can't keep their hands off each other. Sydney decides to give her virginity to the only person she has every cared about.

There are more twists and turns in this story and I will leave you to read about their relationship and where it ultimately takes them. I couldn't put this book down - I read it in one day! You won't be disappointed.
