Randall received his training at Southland Bible Institute, and graduated in 1971. After graduation, former President Ray Childress invited him to remain at Southland and work in maintenance. The Lord led him to Marietta, Ohio, where he became the first pastor of the Bethel Lighthouse Church for three years. He then pastored the Grace Gospel Church (now called Grace Baptist), and as administrator of Devola Christian School for two and a half years.
The Lord called Randall back to Southland and in October 1980 he began his ministry there. During the twenty-six years of ministry at Southland, he worked in various positions. Randall served as a teacher on campus, in various extension classes, as dean of students and dean of men. Other responsibilities he had overseen while at Southland include: Married Housing Director, Veteran Benefit's Coordinator, construction helper, and dorm parent.
