Sam Hinton and Amy Smithson know each other from their high school debate team. They recognized they have feelings for one another and just as they went to explore a budding romance, Sam stands Amy up at prom and she is confused as to why. They both have trying and unaffectionate families, but found more in each other, so Amy never forgets Sam.
Four years later, Amy find herself in Boston to start college and sees Sam playing drums for a band at a bar. Sam's music has been his therapy since he had to leave Amy and he does odd jobs (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) to keep himself floating. These two reunite, but there's unanswered questions about why Sam left and if they can start anew.
Fans of Random Acts of Crazy will enjoy reading about the band in this installment to the series. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and if you haven't given it a try, I have to ask, what are you waiting for?

There’s some serious tender moments, they chemistry between Sam and Amy is believable from the first second of their reconnection.
The story is good, filled with plenty of angst and hard moments, but still giving that HEA we all love.
Just like in so many romances, there's always a misconception that has to be explained. And there's always one party who just doesn't want to hear it. I liked how all of Sam's friends came to his defense at a time when it would have been difficult for him to rehash a horrible past.
Very very good book and highly recommended.
