Format: Paperback
This collection of poetry and prose about the author's travels consists of short pieces about various stops on his journey to many countries over the course of several years. It begins as he undoubtedly was - green. Lacking experience in travel and writing, he was a kid on the road, writing poetry with an optimistic Suessian rhythm. The fascinating part was watching him experiment and grow as he traveled. Writing styles were tried on and then discarded. He was often hungry or broke, and the writing turned spare, desperate. The different styles remind you that he is visiting vastly different countries and cultures. The sheer number of places on his "road" is impressive, and the back of the book contains a more comprehensive list. I enjoyed the journey.

Each little poem/verse is filled with emotion from the authors surroundings and life lessons. "Random Thoughts" are deep and personnel written mementos that I am glad Robert Louis DeMayo felt we were worthy of hearing and interpreting!
