Anyway, this is by far, the best romantic comedy novel that I have EVER read and I highly recommend it to all readers. The writing style is SUPERB, the characters are delightful, hilarious, and over the top silly, and the plot is AMAZING.
“Love to her is a grandiose emotion that needs to be expressed in a way only an eleven-million-dollar production can accomplish.”
This is the conclusion to The Virgin Romance Novelist and Meghan Quinn certainly begins how she left off. Sometimes you just “get” someone and I am totally akin to Meghan Quinn’s hilarious sense of humour that is at times, close to the knuckle, but is toilet humour at its finest. I have cried a river reading this book and for once it was not through sadness, I literally had tears running down my cheeks as our quirky Rosie just ran the gauntlet of life leaving battered p___ses and Ben Wa Balls in her wake.
In this book I had whole scenes highlighted rather than one liners, this was all about the incredibly inane and hilarious situations that Rosie finds herself in. For someone that has only just lost her virginity our girl certainly throws herself into all things sexual while still holding onto her cute and adorable naivety. Rosie was a character you just want to be best friends with and give the hugest hugs while taking a step back just in case something went wrong. Even the most of innocuous of situations seemed to have hilarious consequences for our Calamity Jane.
“I had sexual intercourse, I did the dirty, I performed the sexuals, I horizontally twerked it. Basically what happened was p___s met v_____a and had one hell of a party down at pleasure palace.”
But it is this cute and quirkiness that totally envelop Rosie into your heart and you cannot help but welcome her with open arms. Penning her first novel while still finding her sexual prowess in the bedroom with her beau, Henry, we really see her insecurities in full force. Rosie cannot see why someone as handsome and sexy as Henry would be interested in her and Henry was the same, why would his best friend of years, who was so adorable, a hopeless romantic, naïve, honest and gorgeous want to be with him? These two had a lot of relationship lessons to learn but you just knew that the journey would be fraught with hilarious antics and misunderstandings, but these two were honestly so well suited.
“*Underwear Symbol* + *Nose Symbol* = 4EVA *Heart symbol*”
The bachelorette party for Rosie’s best friend, Delaney, was another sight for sore eyes, tears galore and enough “cum” to last a lifetime but it is these situations that were so relatable and just really showcased Meghan Quinn in all her crazy glory. And our cat, Sir Licks-a-lot, brought many a fun scene, the pin the penis is a scene I will forever laugh about.
“Watch out, ladies. It’s time this p___s gets whacked off.”
This is one author I would love to meet, after all, these books are based on the woman herself. If this series is anything to go by there would never be a dull moment. It must be hard to put yourself on the pages like that but I think that is why this series has worked so well. It was honest and real and it is this that really has you laughing out loud as you know that is based on fact and not fiction. In fact you are laughing at Meghan Quinn herself. So all I can say, if you want a belly aching laugh, then this series is definitely for you, if you need a pick me up…this book is for you…if you want to pee yourself laughing…this book is for you…if you never want to be able to watch Titanic again without peeing yourself laughing…this book is for you. So with love and boob squeezes I’m out, just read it.
The humour- Althouh it was a bit too much in this book, too over the top. I didn't laugh as much at this read ss book 1. At one point It felt like I need to stop reading because it is too embarrassing.
I liked that this was the ever after part.
While book 1 for me still is one of the mist hilarious books I've ever read, tjis was too over the too. The chsracters (except fir Henry and Derk), the bachelorette party etc . I enjoyed the read, but I didn't love it. Rosie was too awkward, insecure and too much with the book stuff. Not her writing, but the references to the social media book world, bookboyfriendd, kindle sex etc etc.
One of my favorite aspects was how meta the author went with writing about Rosie's new career complete with crazy book signings, Facebook groups, cover models, and shout outs to authors like Tara Sivec, Helena Hunting, and Debra Anastasia, queens of romance comedy. I think the author did a fantastic job and I will definitely be on the look out for more of her books!
