This is a terrific mashup of genres, and a great, fun read. It's the perfect length, making for a fast read over a couple of evenings, and providing the high-action of a western with the strange mix of costuming and terminology from ancient Egyptology. Excellent fun!
The prose is tight and the author's got a good sense of pacing. The character development unfolds over the course of the story, though I feel certain more is to come, since this is the first episode of a serial. The installment does end, but the story isn't resolved by a long shot. There's a lot to come in the adventure, and I'm very interested to see where the adventure leads.
A fun read, and well-written to boot!...er, to sandal?
