Great low-carb natural sauce

This is our favorite spaghetti sauce that we know of. We've been buying it at Whole Foods and Thrive for years. We love the flavor, and we especially love the fact that it is the lowest sugar/low carbohydrate tomato sauce that we have found that tastes good. It works great as a spaghetti sauce, but for me (following at ketogenic diet) I put a little on buttered up spaghetti squash or on cauliflower pizza, and it is absolutely delightful.

I was happy when Amazon started carrying it and was able to pick it up for less money that Whole Food, which usually has this for about $7 per jar.

Rao's-the Best Sauce in a Jar

Rao's is simply the best sauce you can get in a jar - period. The arribbita is spiced just right and the tomato basil has great flavor. I can spend all day on the stove and come very close to Rao's with a lot of work and time. Sometimes I do this and I am reminded that Rao's is just as good with a lot less hassle in my life. Don't overheat or boil Rao's - it takes away the flavor. Just warm it very gently on the stovetop or oven. It works real well on beef spaghetti. Veal Parmesan in the oven is fantastic using Rao's and mozzarella on the breaded cutlets. Eggs in the oven with Rao's is a winner. Just be careful not to boil Rao's sauce - it takes away the bite and flavor of the sauce.

Im so glad I purchased this. I bought a case of this stuff then discovered my local supermarket sells these as well. I agree with another reviewer who said to not try to "re-vamp" this sauce too much. I heat up a little evoo- through in some sliced garlic and crushed red peppers on low heat and then add the sauce- I wouldn't boil this sauce. I make this with a spinach fettuccine pasta and its the quickest and most delicious meal ever.

Its pricey but worth every penny. Extremely fresh taste!

I have tested many other fresh sauces at a cheaper price point and at a similar price point, but after 7 years Rao's stands alone. This 4 pack is a good value on Amazon as the sauce can be priced between $8-$11 per jar in stores. Now, Amazon just needs to add all of the other flavors to the mix, but this one is a solid choice if you like a medium heat without being overpowering.

Perfect for pasta, pizza, parmigiana, zitti etc.
