I rarely read rom-coms.
Raphael is the CEO where Mia works. They meet at the Office Christmas party while in costume.
They start to have a fling. Mia receives letters from a blackmailer who wants her to do what he wants because he has a recording of something she did in college.
Mia finds out she's pregnant. Since she is being blackmailed and Raphael is a player who never plans on getting married or having children she decides to leave town.
Mia returns after 18 months. Raphael like Mia couldn't get over one another.
I recommend reading this book , it has ups and downs, life choices and is also heartwarming.
I loved this book, I plan on reading more from Alix. I'm now a fan.
Raphael on the surface was just a playboy, but as the story evolved, you realised he had many dimensions to him.
Mia has had a very strict & religious upbringing that seems to affect her decisions even as an adult.
The two together are just beautiful. So much chemistry and their dialogue at times is hilarious, but then also very heart warming.
Looking forward to Noah's book.
This book is written in a first person. From the heroine's point of view. Very few writers can manage such challenge. For most writers it just destroys the book. Not for Ms. Nichols. She uses this tactic to show us better how Mia sees the world and how she feels about all her actions. On the other hand the reader only knows Raphael through Mia's eyes. Our opinion of him is determined not by facts, but by what Mia sees as facts.
It makes their romance so much more real. A reader feels like a participant and not an observer.
Add to it an interesting plot, intelligent, funny dialogue, the characters with a true depth, and you are in for a treat. At least I was. And the price is great, too. Don't miss it. Of course you have your own standards for what makes a good book, but I enjoyed it tremendously.

Raphael and Mia meet at a masked ball and share a breath stealing kiss, anonymity means they both do not know who the other is. But as she leaves he hears someone say her name. He is her boss and he has rules about getting involved with his staff and she has grown up believing in no physical relations before marriage.
This will be interesting
A great read I highly recommend
Lust begins when Raphael, dressed as a snowman, and Mia, Rudolph, talk, dance and kiss at the office Christmas party.
A well written book with lots of twists and turns before true love prevails.
