Gosh! What an ending to this series. I felt my heart break and I flipping cried. I devoured this book and still want more. I freaking loved the majority of the characters. It was like we were a family. Lol. Sloane has a great talent with her words. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.
Sloane's books have opened my eyes & mind into the Vampires, Paranormal, Dystopian & Urban world. I didn't typically read anything but regular "Romance" so I am happy that I stepped out more into the reading world, otherwise I would have missed out on a great series.
The first two books of the series, Descent and Crash I absolutely loved. The third book, Soar, I was less than thrilled with and I was hoping Rapture would redeem the series for me, but it just didn't. There were so many things that just fell short in my eyes.
The characters didn't feel as developed or alive to me as the previous books. Some of the characters from previous books didn't even make an appearance or were barely mentioned (and to me they seemed like important side characters that we should have known what happened to). There was also too many time jumps and not enough information. The story just seemed rushed and instead of a good flow to the story it was choppy and I couldn't really get into it anymore like I could Descent or Crash.
I'm not going to give away plot, but some of the characteristics of the characters bothered me as well. In my opinion Dante was a weak character. Addie went from being a bold and fearless warrior to still getting walked all over. Xander was just a fool. There were so many things that just didn't feel right for me throughout the story.
All in all I love Sloane's work, I will always read each book she releases, but Rature just wasn't the book for me or the way I would have liked to see the series end.
